Came from Lakewpod. Alameda Street is Ruff with many big trucks. Salted and clean restaurant. I ordered my food because I need to find my way back to Lakewood This place is purely Mexican! Rudy 1 of 2 brothers knows good English. Ricky is the other owner and my cousin agrees that the Menudo was really the best! View all feedback.
What Tasha Florentz doesn't like about Maya Mexican:
This place was so delicious! I got the menudo while my husband's combo with Tamales and enchiladas. The salsa was spicy and super flavorful. The salsa Verde on the tamales was also amazing. My menudo was super tasty. It came with all the usual fixings. A nice amount of hominy but not too much. Lots of tripe. Service was great! View all feedback.

It was great, but not impressive. This is my first time with salsa that had heat on it (it tasted like they added Valentina hot sauce to it). I ordered the Carne Asada Torta. The Torta was still missing some freshness. It would have been better if they were fresh/cold slices of queso fresco, maybe some mayo or avocados. The waitress was nice. I liked art on the wall.
Maya mexican restaurant in the city of wilmington is a nice little place to have authentic Mexican cuisine. we were immediately tall and it was all in Spanish (what my wife, fortunately, speaks fluent, I still learn) and sat immediately. the chips and salsa hit and the heat was exactly right in salsa. my wife and I have both tortas, I have the carnita torta and she got the carne asada torta. the carnita was cooked quite differently than on the east coast, fried and dried, but still very good. 5/5 would be recommended for authentic Mexican foods.
Not much to say, others then if you were not in Maya you are the one that is missing. I was looking for a good place to have breakfast and decided to try Mayas. The restruant is very friendly and clean and the service is impeccable! There is a wide selection of authentic Mexican dishes to choose the salsa is some of the best I had in a long time. Mayas definitely went to the top of my list and I'll be back soon.
Senora was so friendly. I was a single female traveler with little Spanish speaking. She helped me. My omelet and fried potatoes were so fresh ànd delicious and a huge serving which was great as I needed something for supper. Definitely go there!!
