Our waiter, who seemed to be managing everything on his own, was impressively attentive to all the guests. I also enjoyed the distinctive artwork, and one of the highlights for me was the funky jazz music playing softly in the background as we dined. I ordered the French dip sandwich, and it was incredible! The jus was delicious, and the bread was delightful. I also had the black-eyed pea salad as a side, which completely amazed me; I need to get that recipe! My girlfriend chose the quiche, one of her favorite dishes, and she really enjoyed it. I appreciated that there were both veggie and meat options for the quiche—a nice touch! The crust was perfectly buttery and crumbly without being too thick. She also had a side of broccoli cheddar soup that day, which we both found very comforting. After our meal, we lingered a bit longer, chatting and soaking in the atmosphere. I left feeling delighted and grateful for our experience, and I want to give a big shout-out to our waiter for his exceptional service. We will definitely be returning soon!
I really enjoy this restaurant because of the food. It’s a cozy space, though, so it’s not great for groups larger than four. Some of the seating features church pews with pillows, giving it a very homey feel. The service can be somewhat brusque—I'm not sure if it's due to patrons lingering and causing slower table turnover or if it’s just a bit of an attitude issue.
What a unique place with amazing food and excellent service! I tried the grilled chicken salad, which had fresh vegetables and tender chicken. It was delicious!
Such a cozy lovely place! And food is always amazing! The quiche and eggs benedict are a must try!!

So lovely to find a new breakfast place!! I'm a breakfast picky eater but I tried their black bean benedict with tomatoes and avocado (which I do not normally eat but was curious to try in this combination). I was delighted!!! Light, delicious and comforting all in one dish. And their mini muffins are to die for!!! Treat yourself if you are in Wilmington and visit Jester's for breakfast. You'll be hooked!! I know I certainly am!!!
Wow, what a gem of a restaurant! The cooking here is incredible, with everything seasoned to perfection. Both the iced tea and coffee are excellent. The shrimp salad has just the right amount of mayonnaise and herbs, and the salad dressing is delightful. The avocado toast is equally fantastic. The service is outstanding as well.
Second time here. So delicious! We shared the smoked salmon Benedict and the Cuban sandwich. Both hit the spot! And, the black eyed pea salad as a side was fresh and surprisingly yummy! We capped off our brunch with Just Peachy and Poinsettia mimosas. We left with happy bellies and spirits. Highly recommend Jester’s Cafe!
Very delicious food and friendly staff. Food didn't take long and it came out HOT! So yummy.
Updates: went again today. We had the Cuban sandwich, smoked salmon Benedict, and mimosas. Absolutely phenomenal food and service! We were so happy to have another great experience with a staff that is clearly passionate about their craft. I can’t wait to go again soon!!! And if you have a wait for a table there is a great wine bar next door! What a wonderful little restaurant. After Valentine's Day, my lady and I desperately needed a savory breakfast/brunch. We found Jester's...parking was easy, the staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the food was perfect. I had the french toast casserole and the girlfriend had the lox bagel. Both dishes were phenomenal! My only critique would be that the coffee was just mediocre and they don't serve **** Mary's. Other than those small issues, this is a must! We WILL be back for sure!!!!
