This was my first visit to the restaurant. I went with my daughter and her wife. I ordered the fish and chips, which were outstanding. My daughter had the tuna melt, and she...
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It took me 10 to 15 years to finally discover this place, but wow! Just wow! If you've ever been in the Pacific Northwest, you know what I'm talking about...
I stumbled upon this restaurant somewhat by chance while browsing Google Maps for a lunch spot, as we were on our way to check out the trolls on the South Coast...
I recently revisited "Hooked" on the Island and had a wonderful experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the chowder, fish and chips, and shellfish over two Saturday evenings. My first visits were back in the 80s and 90s when I had an office on Main Street. Even after moving my office to East Islip, I continued to savor the food and service until we left in 2013. Sometimes, returning home can be a disappointment, but in this case, it was even better than I remembered. The food, staff, and owners are fantastic. If you find yourself on the island, make sure to stop by. The chowder is undoubtedly the best—keep up the great work, ladies!
What has happened to our Chowder Bar? It used to be a great spot for tasty food at a fair price. However, when we walked in, the atmosphere was dirty and unwelcoming. The staff appeared unhappy, which could explain why there were so few patrons on a Wednesday evening. When a place looks so neglected, it raises concerns about the quality of the food as well. We ordered some beers but ultimately decided to leave shortly after. It's just not the same as it used to be.
