The Hidden Gem - WILLIS
The Hidden Gem
Description
The restaurant received mixed reviews from customers. While some found the food to be good but not exceptional, others were disappointed with the quality of dishes such as the crab dip and stuffed shrimp. Prices were considered to be on the higher side, especially for side dishes like French fries. Despite some shortcomings, outdoor seating was praised for its picturesque setting by the water. Service varied from attentive and friendly to subpar, with issues such as noise levels and air pressure within the building mentioned. Overall, the restaurant seemed to offer a decent dining experience, with some standout dishes but room for improvement in various aspects.

This restaurant is the epitome of a hidden gem, serving up delicious comfort food in a cozy setting.
We had a great experience with the beef stroganoff at this restaurant! The mushroom gravy and beef tips were delicious. We also sampled their butter beans.
It definitely needs alot of work still, Honestly Im a little let down on the quality of the foodWe ordered there bacon cheese ranch fries.
I was searching for something familiar and I found it at The Hidden Gem! This restaurant combines classic comfort food with creative twists that take the flavors to a whole new level. You can stick with traditional options like the Patty Melt or Plain Jane Burger, or step out of your comfort zone with dishes like the FGTBLT (Fried Green Tomato BLT) or the weekly special, the Chicken Waffle Club (or Chickafflewel as I like to call it). No matter what you choose, you're guaranteed a delicious meal! The cozy atmosphere gives off a hometown vibe and the staff is very friendly. This restaurant is a true hidden gem - you can't go wrong with a visit!
Crab dip was subpar but steamed shrimp was awesome. Server never cleared the table before bringing out more food. Then the runner looked confused when I asked her to remove the dirty plates first. My husband noticed the building was under negative air pressure caused from Kitchen hood exhaust (kitchen saloon doors sucked in) causing hot humid exterior air to rush into the restaurant when the exterior doors would open. Sit away from doors if you want A/C. Outdoor seating looked nice and led to long pier on the water.
