**Dining Experience at a Potential Gem** At this restaurant, diners experience a mixed bag of delights and disappointments. While many rave about the delicious steaks and attentive service, others lament inadequate food quality and service flaws. The ambiance, reminiscent of an old western setting, offers a unique charm and is complemented by family-friendly attractions. Patrons appreciate the dedicated staff but express concern over inconsistent meal preparation and operational issues with advertised attractions. Despite these drawbacks, the overall atmosphere and potential make it a venue worth exploring, with hopes that management refines the culinary experience and addresses customer service shortfalls.
Amazing food!!! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Tomahawk Steak
First, we tried to reserve for 1pm, but were told two other large parties were already booked. We opted for a 2pm reservation instead. We originally had a reservation for 30 diners, but dropped it to 20 an hour or so prior because a third of our party chose to go separate to avoid the wait. We arrived 30 minutes early and checked in, but we were told we couldn 't be seated until 2 pm. Then we watched a party of 15 with no reservation get seated after waiting less than 5 minutes. When we were finally seated promptly at 2:01pm. We were seated in the same area as the portion of our party that arrived earlier with no reservation and an extra 10 people (so 20 people seated with minimal wait and no reservation). Finally seated. Waited about 10 more minutes for drink orders, then another 10 for drinks to arrive and to give appetizer orders. The onion fries (blooming onion) was burnt. Finally ordered dinner, and it arrived after a reasonable wait. The food was great, with one exception. The grilled chicken breasts were squashed flat and had the tenderness of a rubber tire. The ribs and shrimp were delicious; well seasoned, perfectly fried, and served with a yummy bbq sauce. All the diners eating the grilled chicken opted to coat it in the bbq sauce and dig in with heavy artillery (steak knife and fork). My jaw still hurts from chewing! If the chicken had been fall off the bone tender like the ribs, i would have still given five stars even though we really felt like we were not seated intentionally. High five to our server, he should have had help, but he did a pretty good job by himself. In short, 1) just show up, dont bother with a reservation, and 2) stay away from the grill chicken breast unless you are working on having a well-defined, chiseled jawline. Parking: Th restaurant parking is not easily found if you aren 't a camper. It could use a big sign that says Restaurant parking this way Kid-friendliness: The kids menu needs a little help, no vegetables or fruit offered. Only fries or mashed potatoes are offered. But we were permitted to sub steamed veggies. Fries still brought out on accident.
This was the first visit for us, but we will definitely be back! We never even heard of this place until today when my father in law invited us to go. When we first arrived, I thought we were at the wrong place. It looked like an attraction for kids, but on closer inspection we found a replica of an old west town Deadwood It had old style buildings, tee pees, a small old west train, coy pond and other things to enjoy. We had a 30-minute wait due to the crowd, but it went quickly with all the sites to see. Once inside, we were given a very nice table off to ourselves. We had a party of 7, so it worked out well. 5 of us ordered the steak, and it was delicious! We also had blooming onion, fried pickles, fried green tomatoes (my favorite), and mozzarella sticks! 1 had the Cowboy burger, and 1 had Chicken Quesadillas, they said were good also. So I will say $273 for everything, but there was a tremendous amount of food on that table, and everyone had a doggie plate for later. If you 're looking for good steak and an interesting place to eat, check it out.
Great food. Grat service and excellent Halloween train ride. Tonight was on point with the food. Crispy Smoking Onion, Okra and sweet tater waffle fries. Best crisp and sweet potatoes is hard to get the crisp right.
