The dining experience at the restaurant within the Autograph Collection Hotel in Williamsburg has garnered a mixed response from patrons. While some enjoy the lively atmosphere, particularly during events featuring local music, others have expressed dissatisfaction with the limited menu, inconsistent food quality, and slow service. Customers have noted that classic traditions seem to be fading, as offerings have shifted to simpler fare at inflated prices. However, positive experiences do shine through, with highlights including delicious seafood boil events and friendly staff. Overall, the establishment stands at a crossroads, needing to reconcile its heritage with modern expectations to retain loyal visitors.

This is the place to be in Williamsburg on a Thursday night. We visit about once a month to catch our favorite band, Good Shot Judy. While the main draw is the music, the food and drinks are also excellent, and the staff is very friendly. We enjoy lounging inside, but when the weather is nice, we love relaxing on the terrace. What User dislikes about Sweet Tea Barley:
the charm of a dining room in an old parent house. it's actually just a room from a bar. the service was very slow. I am shocked that this is a hotel in marriott, and that is the best they can do for a hotel restaurant. View all feedback.

The food was incredible! service was fabulous! the music was very nice, not too loud, nice to relax and eat.

The worst meal we’ve had in Williamsburg. We’ve saved coming here for Sunday fried chicken night and for the price we were not expecting a thigh and a drum (I thought breast and dark meat was pretty customary), and the fry on it was so so pale. It completely lacked flavor and it was clear little to no seasoning was used in the batter. The coleslaw was the same (all mayo, no seasoning) and was inedible. The fried green tomato app was fine, but the greens on it tasted like dirt. Very disappointing, especially for the price tag- went home and made ourselves sandwiches that were so much better. Lesson learned.

We were seated at tables in the bar area- not really scenic for an old Williamsburg lodge. Chicken was over cooked and not a lot of food for a $31 plate of chicken.
