Sushiya is a welcoming Williamsburg destination where skilled sushi chefs and attentive in-person staff serve standout rolls, tempura and bento offerings. Diners praise fresh sashimi and unique items like habanero tuna, though experiences vary: some note inconsistent food quality, overcooked sides, occasional wrong orders, limited item availability and spotty takeout/phone service. Prices skew a bit high, but the warm service and strong sushi make it a worthwhile stop for sushi lovers and date nights—just expect the occasional ordering hiccup.

Shocked by the service here. I tried to call and place and order and the girl who answered the phone was SO rude. She took my order and then hung up on me before even taking my name. I called back to leave my name and she hung up on me again. Gross.

What a delicious meal. Had so many things. All delicious. Had suggested squid salad. That was super good. It's not fast, but worth it.

First off: it has taken no less than five attempts to order takeout from Sushiya. No matter the time of day, the phone generally rings endlessly. Finally, I managed to speak to a human. She was very impatient on the phone, though she apologized profusely in person when I picked up my order. She was very kind and pleasant, in person, though it was one of the most rude phone conversations that I've ever had. The order was ... accurate? I think? It's hard to say. But I ended up paying about eight dollars more than I anticipated. I also ended up with more food than I anticipated, half of which wasn't to my liking, so I guess it was all a wash? The food was all a little disappointing. The teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef were just just grilled with a a little, tiny bit of sauce drizzled over them. All of the vegetables were overcooked. The food wasn't bad. It might have gotten three stars, as it is better than reheating frozen meals. But it was so difficult to actually order, that they lose points for that.

One of the best Japanese restaurants I have visited! ???? Service is great and the food is even better! You've got to try the Tempura and the Beef is outstanding! The sushi ???? is fabulous! A little pricey, but fantastic food quality. A hidden Gem????!! Still great!! Service is fantastic!

The female server is absolutely wonderful- no issues w/ service. This was our go-to Asian restaurant in town for many years for sushi hibachi. I think like many businesses they are struggling but the quality of the food has really gone down hill. Meatwas questionable, got the incorrect item couldn't even eat it.
