The food itself is a tiny bit above average but it got an extra star from me for the generous servings. There is also free soup, water and chilli/sauces you can choose from. Quite a good deal. For a joke we said you could order the $2 chicken rice and have much of the free soup with it! Actually not a bad deal for someone who is very poor or tight on money. What User doesn't like about Tai Son Restaurant:
The place is packed crowded for lunch. You chose what you want to eat, you pay and they allocate you a table. You help yourself to cuttlery, sauces, a very watery broth and room temperature water. The portions are big I give them that but the quality is poor. The BBQ pork's fat was rancid, which is strange for a restaurant which such a high turnover. Price wise it's very good with many meat dishes with riceor noodles... View all feedback.
Having been born in Malaysia, I always miss home-cooked food, but Tai Son has been satisfying our cravings with dishes that remind me of home. I have never been disappointed with their food. The service is always friendly and efficient.
We shopped at the huge shopping mall and got hungry by had lunch there. Mainly Malaysian cuisine. Ate noodles with roast pork and spring rolls. Taste was good, noodles well done, not too soggy. Free chilly must try, their sambal (dark red paste), superb!...Price wise, reasonable.
Susie and her team supplied us with a great fed at a reasonable price, couldn’t fault any of the many dishes served.
My wife bought a takeaway order of roast duck and char siew noodle, the quantity was so little for It was ridiculouslyoverpriced! Never again!
If you are looking for fine dining it is best to look elsewhere, this is not what Tai Son is about. Tai Son is simple cooking, similar to what you would find in Hawkers in places like KL or Penang. The food is good, comes out...quick and is very tasty. The presentation isn't the best, but why should it be when the food is just that good. You help yourself to cutlery, sauces and chilli just like you would in a local Malaysian Hawker. They have a very yummy veggie broth soup you can help yourself too as well as free water. If you love Malaysian food you would love this place.
