Costa Coffee is one of the oldest establishments still in operation at the Grand Arcade. It is a place that we frequent and have never been disappointed with the quality of the coffee and service. View all feedback.
What OldBear doesn't like about Costa Coffee:
We had a recent trip to Wigan which resulted in a stop at Costa for a cappuccino and a cake. The staff are always quite chatty and make a good coffee. On this visit it was very busy but we managed to get on the comfy settee. View all feedback.
My family has been here for years, even if it was bb’s in the galleries and the big arcade did not exist. the manager is beautiful and will go out of his way to help! the personal is polite and well gifted. pity about the change of the name, but is always made on this place for a good coffee and a real home muffin!

Having worked in retail for years, I can confidently say that a more appropriate response would have been to agree to pass on feedback or to explain the system to us in a polite manner. Instead, Liam pulled faces and grinned at his colleagues in a disrespectful manner. Additionally, the coffee we ordered was the wrong size, which baffled the staff when we pointed it out. The coffee was also too hot, a recurring issue at this particular branch. Liam, who seems to be a line manager, often displays rude behavior and clearly has favorites among the staff whom he treats with politeness. It is also concerning that some staff members have long hair hanging down over food and drinks, which should be tied back as a precaution. The tables in the restaurant were dirty (please see photos), and one customer had to clear away trash in order to sit down, despite there being free staff members standing around. Furthermore, we were charged incorrectly on the points system for syrups. This experience has left me with the impression that Liam and his team require more training and a lesson in good customer service. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
The Costa Coffee located in the Grand Arcade is like any other Costa, but their cake options are not as extensive as other locations. Despite this, it is still a pleasant spot to relax with a coffee and have a peaceful moment.
Having visited a good few Costa's we were very impressed with this little one in the Grand Arcade. A pet hate of mine is tables not getting cleared and wiped but not only is this done here, but one of the staff also wiping down the chairs. Beautifully clean. Friendly staff. Well done everyone!
