A really very modern reinterpreted asian local. the alpine sushi comes definitiw among the topsushis in the meadow. I find the kitchen really successful implemented, even the ambiente is very nice. of course it is price-adjusted due to the quality and location; with a hunger you should fill out your wallet accordingly. I'm back.
We were in the train of the restaurant week here the servitive was really very striving. the individual courses were perfectly matched and came at the right time. all in all really great here and worth a visit
With another hot day in Vienna we used the outside cafe area of this place to sit and enjoy a drink and rest. The central setting is again lovely and offers another place to sit and watch the world go about it's business. As we were stopping for drinks only can't provide any info on the food.
It's not that the food was bad. I ordered the chef choice small sashimi/sushi platter with two glasses of sake. The first sake, a unique salt water version, was a severe under pour, but absolutely stunning. The second sake was again under poured (see pic I hadn't yet taken a sip both were the same) but a delicious surprisingly clear but pleasantly fruity nigori. The fish was very fresh, but for a sushi sashimi combo, I would expect more variety, and for the price, more creativity. Three thin (like, transparent) slices of tuna, two thicker slices of salmon, two small thin rounds of escolar. 2 small pieces of a tuna hosomaki roll, two small slices of a salmon hosomaki roll. 3 nigiri: Tuna, salmon, escolar. All this for 35 eu before tip. Staff was responsive and very pleasant. So, if you're seeking basic sushi for a high price in Vienna, this is your spot!
This place doesn't look like a Japanese from the outside and we walked past here many times. When we finally went we went upstairs as the tables with high chairs were so hard to get on we couldn't sit on them! [Made for tall people . It was very hot upstairs and it had a bar area. The upstairs area has a a great view of the St Peters Church and the horse carriages that go past. I had a small mixed rolls, which was enough for one person, they also have a larger one with 15 rolls. They were amazing and just right for a light bite for lunch. Accompanied by soy sauce and wasabi [that would blow your socks off! . Had a lovely ginger beer with it. My friend ordered a wonton soup and friend rice. The wonton soup was lovely [I had a few spoons , but the rice was a weird texture and oily, not to my liking, but my friend loved it. The cost for E22 which was very reasonable as that included a tip, which is expected. I'd go here again. It is near the main shopping mall walkway, so it is a nice stop for lunch or dinner.
