Was Francesca Allen at Billini a mag?
We found this restaurant as it is on the same street as the Hotel Bellevue. It is a contemporary cafe/pub/restaurant serving well prepared Austrian specialties. Very much enjoyed the wiener schnitzel. View all feedback.
What Chasity Pfannerstill dislikes about Billini:
Went there today for lunch. It is a nice cozy place. The menu has a few options (very meat-oriented) and the owner is very friendly. The waiter was not so and didn't seem comfortable. We ordered classical Zwiebelrostbraten and Schnitzel. These were of average quality. But the marking and overwhelming trait of this lunch was the incredibly strong smell of oil and fat and deep fried stuff... overpowering. My clothes are... Popped into Gabel & Co on our first night in Vienna and we weren't disappointed. Genuine Viennese cuisine - recommend the Viene Schnitzel. Friendly and attentive proprietor. Recommended.

My clothes are still smelling of it. Even MacDonald's has a better ventilation system... this spoiled the lunch experience.
We walked past this place and decided to drop in for a quick bite. It definitely was well worth it. The owner greeted us like lost friends .....he was so friendly and kind as we spoke in English. My husband was starving and I was merely peckish. Y husband ordered the traditional Wien Schnitzel, this arrived with two large schnitzels perfectly cooked - a golden brown crispy outer coating with the tender meat inside. It was served with delicious potato salad. I ordered the Caesar Salad with a sigh but it arrived with fresh tender chicken fillets and Parmesan shavings. The salad was not cluttered in lettuce like most restaurants, there was just enough for the rest of the ingredients. A pleasant evening. The prices were not high so go try this restaurant. It's worth it.

My family and I were looking for places to have Christmas dinner while we were in Vienna. Though we did not make a reservation early, we still got some seats, which was fabulous. Reading other reviews made me worry about the food and value for money, but the night couldn't be better. The food served was great, from the traditional schnitzel to the goulash soup, etc. The dessert was excellent as well! Love it!
