We had reserved here through delinski.at which offers a 30% discount. Our order was a large sea bass which was cooked perfectly and was excellent. However, the details were a bit slapdash. We were seated in a tiny table in the front window and everyone that walked by would stare at us like mannequins in a shop window. To get a glass of wine I had to order it two times from two different waiters who were doing a tag team thing with us. The wine took about 30 minutes to show up and was possibly the smallest glass of wine that I have ever seen. No water was ever offered and I had to resort to drinking from my companions glass of apple juice.None of this is very grave, unfortunately you run into these things in many places. However, is is when it came time for the bill that things came apart. The amount was €111 (which, of course, did not include the promised discount). I paid with €150 cash and the waiter took it, muttered "danke" and disappeared. We waited and waited for him to come back with the change asking ourselves if he could have possibly believed that we were so pleased with the service that we would leave such a tip. Finally we grabbed the other waiter and asked him to correct the situation which he did. (We still left a good tip.) But the doubt remained that this was an attempt to rip off non-German speaking customers (we are not tourists, we live here). As a result, unfortunately I cannot recommend Die Serviette.
Took this restaurant because of a personally recommendation of a friend. We were able to sit in the sunny garden and also in the evening the restaurant has a great mix of cozy and modern design. The fish for four person was a oven cooked scorpionfish and seabass and we are still amazed.I can strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants a bit more than normal Viennese cousin.
Die Serviette is a small and cozy, yet stylish restaurant in Vienna's 9th district. It's quite popular so make sure to reserve your table well ahead. We ordered home-made tomato soup, very tasty. I loved my main course (Karamelisierte Krautfleckerl) and the desert (Karamelisierter Nussschmarrn) was delicious. Staff was very friendly and took the time to explain items on the menu. The only thing that was slightly annoying was that we had to wait quite some time for our desert. We had theatre tickets for afterwards, otherwise we would not have minded at all. The atmosphere is great, so spending a bit more time there is not a problem at all :)
If you want to experience typical Viennese cuisine, you must visit the napkin! This stylish and still cozy restaurant offers quite everything you need to have tried when visiting a foreign country. Whether you are a local (as we are) or... a visitor, their goulash will convince as well as their famous herbs and herbs! They also offer fish and vegetarian foods such as Kaertner Kasnudeln. Try her dessert of the day and if you like a good glass of wine, you will not be disappointed. Elisabeth (the owner and cook) loves to look out the kitchen to see the happy faces of her guests. Angelo, the waiter, will do everything to make your stay as beautiful as possible!
