Charley's Steak House - Wickenburg

I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant since I'm a meat lover. I visit Wickenburg every winter, and this was my first time dining here. I ordered the most expensive steak on the menu, requesting it to be cooked medium well. Unfortunately, the filet mignon I received was overcooked, charred, dry, and difficult to eat. When the waitress noticed my dissatisfaction, she offered to take it back, but I declined, as I don't believe in giving second chances at restaurants. It's safe to say I won't be returning. As for the food, it was just mediocre and not nearly worth the suggested price. I had the evening's special, but the portion sizes were smaller compared to similar dishes at other restaurants. The flavor was decent but nothing remarkable. The scalloped potatoes were quite greasy, reminding me of something you might find at a Denny's or other chain restaurant. The dinner included dessert, which was a tiny scoop of ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce. Unfortunately, the ice cream had a somewhat icy texture, as if it had thawed and been refrozen. While there was a Porsche in the parking lot, it might be better to spend that money on updating this old venue. The inside should be as welcoming as the exterior. Overall, I was very disappointed.
