So I've never been to a Korean BBQ and why I wouldn't is beyond me. It was absolutely amazing. First the service here was absolutely wonderful, super sweet and nice people here. I know it sounds cliche, but it reminded me of southern hospitality. I didn't know what to expect as far as food or what to order, but luckily I had my wife and very good friends with me to walk me thru the process. I was not disappointed, my... View all feedback.
What TB Luv doesn't like about Gangnam Korean Bbq:
The food at this restaurant is delicious, but the service is lacking. The waitress with pink hair consistently ignores us and has a rude attitude. Despite this, there are other friendly staff members who make up for it. We hope that the overall service improves in the future. View all feedback.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The temperature inside was very cold, as even the waitresses were wearing warm sweaters while serving customers. We ordered an appetizer and a $96 menu item, but received frozen bean sprout kimchi which we had to ask to be exchanged. The real problem was when we were served meat that was frozen solid to the metal plate. My wife, who is skilled in cooking, was able to pry off a tiny piece of meat and put it on the grill. When we brought this issue to the waitress, she said that all she could do was try to loosen it up so it could be removed from the plate. The meat came back with freezer burn marks and the other meat dishes were also frozen. When we requested to speak to the manager, we felt belittled by his unprofessional demeanor. When we asked another waiter for assistance, we were treated rudely. We used to love this restaurant and have frequented it often in the past, but this experience was by far the worst. We do not complain easily, but this was unacceptable, especially on a special occasion. My wife, who is familiar with Asian culture and has a background in the catering and meat industry, was the one to identify the issues with the meat. It is unfortunate to leave a negative review, but the service, aside from the food, was extremely poor. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I was shocked at how poorly we were treated.
The restaurant was clean and had a lovely ambiance. It was more crowded than I expected for a Sunday night. The staff was friendly and polite. I tried kimchi for the first time and loved it. The corn with cheese was unique and definitely worth trying at least once. The bulgogi and spicy chicken dish was delicious. The prices were reasonable considering the quality and portions. It would likely make a great date spot, just be mindful of potential kimchi breath! ???

Before visiting this restaurant for the first time, I had already read reviews and was prepared for the possibility of it being cold inside and receiving subpar service. Indeed, it was chilly. The wait for the BBQ was quoted as 30-45 minutes but ended up being closer to an hour. Additionally, it took nearly another hour for the BBQ and main dishes ordered by the rest of our table to arrive. The bartenders were sluggish, and one of my guests had to request another drink multiple times before receiving the correct one, which finally arrived just before the food. There was also a misunderstanding with a server, who mistakenly thought two guests were sharing a meal, but quickly rectified the situation by bringing out an additional plate. Despite these issues, the food itself was excellent. I regret not having dined here sooner and will definitely return. It's worth noting that the entire party must be present to be seated together, or else you may end up in a separate area. Parties of six or more will incur an 18% gratuity charge, which seems reasonable given the circumstances.
Having tried a lot of Korean food in my life, I can easily distinguish between good and bad. The food at this restaurant is exceptional, with perfectly seasoned meat. If you're new to Korean cuisine, I highly recommend starting with the hot stone bowls.
