Winkle's Kitchen - Whitstable
Winkle's Kitchen
Menu
The place from Whitstable offers 84 different menus and drinks on the menu at an average price of £13.
Whitstable’s dining scene offers a variety of experiences, particularly for seafood enthusiasts. Although some lament the loss of The Crab and Winkle due to a fire, newcomers like The Luke strive to fill the gap. While the harbor views are picturesque, customer service often disappoints, with reports of slow service and less-than-friendly staff. Diners have noted the inconsistency in food quality, with some dishes lacking flavor and appearing hastily prepared. Yet, amid criticism, there are gems: breakfast dumplings have reignited fond memories for many. Overall, it’s an adventure that varies widely from one visit to the next.

This is an amazing restaurant with beautiful harbor views. However, they specialize in fish and seafood dishes, so if you're in the mood for steak, this may not be the place for you. View all feedback.
What Bethany Reid dislikes about Winkle's Kitchen:
The Crab and Winkle Resturant were no longer there as they burned down a month before. Very sad for them, but we had to phone around to find a booking somewhere else, as we were not reported. View all feedback.
We came across the Crab and Winkle by chance while exploring Whitstable. This place is really cool!

I had the worst experience at a restaurant in a long time. The service was terrible.
I could easily give this restaurant a five-star review! I've never had such an incredible experience in a seafood restaurant before. We tried our first natural oysters, and they were fantastic! The highlight for me was the delicious brown fish—I can't recall having anything quite like it. It's not often you find octopus claws in a fish restaurant, unless you go to a Greek place in England. The mussels were also amazing! On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We were so happy to have discovered this place to celebrate our special occasion!
Great place! We weren't 100% sure what to expect when we booked, but the seafood platter was great, nice classy vibes and the staff were friendly and prompt. For us (couple coming without kids) it was a plus that it was a calm place where kids and dogs aren't allowed too. Slightly pricey but worth it.
