My husband, daughter and I enjoyed this roomy hotel. We gave it top grade imho compared to 3 or 4 others we've stayed at in Whitehorse. Though this isn't the best in terms of location for city centre, it is perfect for flights . We really enjoyed the restaurant and our rich seafood meal of lobster tail and prawns. Our room did lack a microwave but had a nicely appointed bathroom. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Skky:
The beds had gravel in them, which was not what we were expecting when we crawled into them in the middle of the night after 12 hours of travelling. Not mention unnerving in the time of covid. Did they even change the sheets before we checked in?They say on the website that they have a contract with cab companies for 6$ trip, but they know full well none of the cabs will honour it. My husband, daughter, and I had a great time at this spacious hotel. In my opinion, we received first class service compared to the 3 or 4 other hotels we stayed at in Whitehorse. While it may not be the most centrally located, it is perfect for flights. We loved the restaurant and enjoyed delicious seafood dishes like lobster and prawns. Our room didn't have a microwave, but it did have a beautiful bathroom.
The beds had keys in them, which we had not expected when we arrived in the middle of the night after 12 hours of traveling. Additionally, considering the current COVID situation, we were unsure if they had even changed the sheets before we checked in. They advertise on their website that they have a deal with a taxi company for $6 rides, but it was clear that none of the taxis would honor that rate.
I was pleasantly surprised by the bathroom at this hotel, with its full glass door and large granite tiles. The room was very clean and had a large television with endless channels to choose from. This was my first time in the Yukon and I was impressed by the quality of the hotel for a reasonable price. The restaurant at the hotel may be on the pricier side, but the pasta was excellent and the service was top-notch.
Near the airport I will no longer stay. Rude employees! small Italian restaurant connected, but closed earlier, then I hope. no entertainment. I would recommend staying the city for entertainment. whitehorse is a friendly city to check it.
