What User doesn't like about Ricky's Family Restaurants:
The food was quite bland. I ordered from the happy hour specials, but the fries that came with the poutine were too mushy, and the chicken tenders were overly greasy with very little flavor. The "so good pot stickers" were not impressive either. On a positive note, the waitress was very friendly, but she was busy attending to all the tables, which caused longer wait times. I would say breakfast is better here. View all feedback.
I was told there would be a 15-minute wait, but I watched 15 to 20 people get seated before us while we were still waiting. Frustrating! I'm getting hangry.
I visited Ricky's this morning with my son, and when we arrived, there were only three other people dining there. I asked for a high chair, and the staff member rudely pointed and told me to get it myself. I was really disappointed by the attitude. I don’t plan on returning to this restaurant.
The tap water served was unremarkable, the service was slow, and the portion sizes felt small and resembled frozen food.

Ricky's is consistently just average—a reliable spot across Canada for a decent breakfast to kick off the day. However, this Ricky's was actually Charlie's, the quintessential restaurant in Whitehorse, renowned for possibly having the best French cuisine in Canada. I used to be one of the chefs there from 1980 to 1982, and I returned today to reminisce about those times.
