Lovely lake deck dining. Enjoyed fresh clam chowder, white fish, and Chicken with lime and butter sauce. Fresh veggies of zucchini, and rice pilaf again fresh and delicious. The view was great and the service was good! View all feedback.
What Suzanne D doesn't like about Crosswinds:
We hit Crosswinds for dinner during their off season . We had a large party (13) and the restaurant had us set up in the back. Overall, the menu had some great options. It is very seafood heavy, which was great with me. The wine list left a little to be desired, but they did have Tangeray as an alternative. I went for the cod and chips. The pieces of cod were large and the breading was well done. The fries were hot,... View all feedback.
Hubby and I went here for dinner and had a great time. To start, they had some of the best iced tea I've ever had and wish I knew how they made it. The lady said it was a white iced tea with citrus. Hubby had a beer. Then the salads and dressings were very fresh (me the strawberry poppyseed dressing, hubby blue cheese). The dressings were home-made and very good. They give you dinner rolls which look very basic, but they are very tasty. He had the pork chops (one was a little dry, but the second one was good) and I had the schnitzel. The mornay sauce on the pork schnitzel was outstanding and the schnitzel itself was cooked perfectly. It came with a side of broccoli, which was freshly steamed. Dessert was very good, too, just the right amount for two to share after a full meal. The service was good. And when we got the bill, even though we knew the prices ahead of time, we were shocked by how inexpensive it was. We would definitely go back when we are in town.

The pieces of cod were large and the breading was well done. The fries were hot, fresh and crispy. I gave Crosswinds three stars because the service was less than stellar. They were not very busy, but our waitress was not very attentive. We paid the required large party tip, but I did not feel compelled to give her any more.
The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because of the view and the wait staff was friendly. Ordered the New York Strip and shrimp dinner for $24.50. The steak was no thicker than the insert in my shoe. It looked like a piece of leather. I´m pretty sure it is already cooked when it arrives frozen at the restaurant and they just reheated it in the microwave. Three pieces of shrimp were clearly out of a plastic bag. I did substitute coleslaw for the veggie, but coleslaw was room temp. House salad is nothing but lettuce with one cucumber and a few black olives thrown on top for $24.50 this is ridiculous. Our bill, including tip was just shy of $100.00. What a waste of money. I will say, the hurricane drinks from the bar were delicious. Even if someone offered to pay for my meal, I would not go back.

Ordered the whitefish which is supposedly fresh. I did get a nice size piece of fish which was tasty and cooked well. The fish was served with mashed potatoes and corn so the plate looked rather bland, everything on the plate was yellow or white. I think the chef needed to throw something colorful on there like orange or green. Kind of pricy for what you get. Nice lake atmosphere but it was dark already so not much of a view. Go when you can enjoy the viee.
