What ErlendurM doesn't like about Harvest Tavern:
The food was fine, but a bit too salty. The bread basket consisted of very sweet bread (the hotel served perfectly good sourdough bread in the bar, which was much higher quality). But worst of all was the poor decor and the lighting was as bright and cold as a operating theatre in a hospital what an awful taste. In light of the high prices this was a very disappointing restaurant. View all feedback.
This restaurant once had a great reputation, but it seems the new owners have lost interest in maintaining food quality. The menu is now quite limited, and unfortunately, the food we received was overcooked. I would rate the food a 1, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 2.
On our third night, we decided to experience the restaurant in person. I chose the Peri Peri half chicken, which was quite generous, served with mint jasmine rice, pickled vegetables, and a citrus yogurt sauce. My partner opted for the shrimp scampi with giant trattole in a garlic herb Chablis sauce. To accompany our main dishes, we indulged in pan-roasted Brussels sprouts beautifully prepared with maple butter and curried walnuts. We both agreed this was one of our most memorable meals in recent times. The chicken was roasted to crispy perfection with paprika, and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The scampi with trattole was a delightful surprise and absolutely delicious. For dessert, we had a rich chocolate mousse topped with a chocolate glaze, paired with a whimsical shortbread "moose." Truly splendid dining! It's hard to believe that other diners had negative experiences when ours was so wonderful. Our server was bright, proactive, cheerful, and attentive, making for a perfect evening overall. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We enjoyed a fantastic meal at the bar. We ordered the burger and the turkey club, both of which were made with clearly high-quality turkey. The fries and chips were incredibly tasty. The service at the bar was excellent; the staff was very attentive. Overall, we rated the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 out of 5.
This restaurant used to have a great menu, with several options for everyone. Unfortunately, they’ve cut it down to a very limited selection none of which were particularly appealing. It’s a real shame to no longer have a good dining option when staying at the hotel. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
