What User doesn't like about Passage To India:
The menu was quite vegan friendly. Everything is cooked with veg oil and not ghee, so all Veg Curries are vegan apart from the obvious corma etc.. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Only on the bottom was that there were no vegan starters as the Bhajis egg contained. View all feedback.
We had a great experience at this inviting restaurant that offers a variety of vegan dishes. We tried the Bombay Aloo, Chana Masala, vegetable Dhanzak, and vegetable Rogan Josh, along with rice and chapatis. All of the dishes were well-seasoned and delicious, with the sides being our favorites. The Rogan Josh could have used a bit more cooking time to blend the flavors better, but it was still tasty. The naans and desserts were not vegan, which was expected. Despite a small issue with online payment, we were able to settle our bill in cash, spending just under £45 in total.

The menu at this restaurant does not specifically mention vegan options, but you can ask the waiter to adjust nearly all dishes to be vegan. I tried the vegetable bhuna and found it to be a bit spicy, though I usually make milder dishes at home. Despite this, it was still very enjoyable. However, they do not offer vegan Naan bread, which is a bit surprising since it is readily available in supermarkets.
I am glad to have found this restaurant on Happy Cow. It is definitely the most well-known Indian restaurant in Whitby. I have always had a pleasant dining experience here, as well as with their take-away options. The Goth weekend nights are especially enjoyable as they welcome late-night walk-ins. What sets this place apart is that every curry can be made vegan. My go-to choice is the Madras, but I have tried almost all of them except for the Korma. I highly recommend starting with their pickles and popadoms, just be sure to substitute the raita with another vegan option.
Menu does not mention vegan. But just ask the waiter and they can adapt almost all dishes. I had a vegetable bhuna. It was a bit hot for me, but that's just because I'm making a milder home. Still very nice. I'm sorry, but no vegan naan. Mad really because you can buy them in supermarkets.
