North End Burgers - Whitby

Awesome burgers with large portion fries for a very reasonable price ....Been eating Johnny s burgers for better part of 35 yrs now ...

I keep coming back. The value for their price on a cheeseburger combo is insane. I should not even be telling you this as $7.50 is nuts for a cheeseburger with a ton of toppings, real fries or real onion rings, and coleslaw or gravy and a drink kills all the competition. I want less people there as it can be busy for lunch. The poutine on it's own is a killer also (not curd cheese though). I am not sure of what kind of burger meat it is, but it seems they make the patties and for the price good enough. And, the buns are real not some faked little thing that can't hold the toppings. I keep coming back.

I go here about every 6 weeks for lunch and usual have the chicken on a Kaiser. It is a nice change from a burger. The sandwich is good but not as when the former owner, Johnny, was in charge.

Should have known soon as we walked in with our shoes sticking to the floor. As we waited for our food a man in the back prepping food with latex gloves on would come do cash wearing same gloves and returning to prepping. The cook who wore no gloves wipes around his mouth and nose and continued cooking. Years ago this was the place to go Johnny the owner was great. Really surprised the health board has not closed it down . Such a disappointment

The original owner (Johnny) retired and the place is not the same. Johnny's chicken on a kaiser used to be awesome. Had one recently and it was nowhere near the original.
