What Michael Richardson aka lordmdr31 4 doesn't like about Elm Grove Subs:
I guess this place is hit or miss. We checked the reviews they were up and down our experience was so so. The service wasn't extremely happy to be there to shave the least. I'm a hard shower when it comes to certain foods and I'll tell you what the gyro is far from gyro from where I come from. At least a meat was authentic and just wasn't near enough. The fries overpriced not so many. And who puts celery seasoning on... View all feedback.
Gyro was perfect. Warm grilled pita, flavorful meat and fresh tasting toppings and sauce. The crinkle cut fries were also hot, crispy and salty. The food was delivered 5 miles away and was still perfect, so this restaurant is doing something right. I would 100% order again.
We ordered 2 smash burger subs. 1 with extra caramelized onions and 1 with extra cheese. Both were above expectations! Every sub we have tried there is delicious!

Hoagies are excellent BUT every one of the fried zucchini was burnt on one end making them one biters.
This place used to be fantastic. It still is about 50% of the time. My most recent 2 orders had no sauces, which I ordered specifically to go with the sandwiches/sides. Poutine was cold. Like COLD cold--cheese bits were straight out of refrigerationand there was clearly no attempt to warm them. The fried pickles I ordered in November are not the ones they've had since. (The ones in November were breaded, not heavily battered. Personal preference, but you can get heavily battered anythinganywhere in the valley--it was nice to have something fried that was a touch lighter and WAY more flavorful. The fries areconsistently excellent. The pierogies were initially out of this world--spiced for max flavor and fried to perfection. Butthey've since grown floppy and bland. Fortunately these are all things that can be fixed. And hopefully will be. My advice:Stay away when it's busy--these are the times they rush and you end up with cold and/or missing food. You can't go wrong withthe fries.
