Was Evgeny Barchukov at Luong Loi a mag?
Fantastic pho! I dined in for dinner and the experience was exceptional. The price per person was around $20–30. I would rate the food a perfect 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere also a 5. Highly recommend trying the Special Pho! View all feedback.
What G M dislikes about Luong Loi:
Take out. 1 hit and lots of miss. Shrimp egg rolls were good, with the sweet and sour sauce. The shrimp and pork pancake was ok. Black bean chicken was tasty, carrots were not a good addition. Beef and green peppers needed more flavor and again the carrots were not a good addition. The bbq pork fried rice was much better with a few splashes of soy sauce. None was provided, good thing I have. I did order this with no... View all feedback.

I ordered chicken fried rice, but there was no chicken! For dinner, I spent about $30–50. The food was only a 2 out of 5, the service was a bit better at 3, but the atmosphere was quite disappointing, just a 1. I would recommend the egg rolls, though!
Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. There were just two of us; we ordered hot water, a Vietnamese coffee, and three dishes. The waiter took our order without writing anything down. A few minutes later, he returned to ask what the third dish was. It was quite amusing, but also frustrating. Then, a larger table of about 12 people arrived, and the same waiter took their orders without a notepad either, leading to him forgetting one of their dishes! If you have a short memory, it’s not difficult to grab a pen and jot things down. To top it off, our hot water never arrived! I can’t help but wonder why. On a positive note, the food was quite good, though the portions were a bit small. The main reason for my low rating is the service; if there were a zero-star option, I would use it! Once we got home, I had to rush to the bathroom—everything I ate just didn’t sit well. As for parking, it’s in a shared lot, and the place is kid-friendly with a variety of options for children.

**Dining at Luong-Loi: A Mixed Experience in Downtown Wheaton** Luong-Loi offers a vibrant taste of Vietnamese cuisine in downtown Wheaton, basking in a charming, family-owned atmosphere. Diners rave about the crispy shrimp egg rolls and flavorful BBQ pork fried rice, while the unique grilled lemon chicken and beef pho provide their own delights. However, consistency is an issue—some dishes, such as the special pho and chicken fried rice, receive critiques for blandness or missing ingredients. Service can be hit-or-miss, occasionally marred by forgetfulness. Despite this, regulars appreciate the great value, welcoming staff, and the restaurant’s quaint appeal, making it worthy of a visit.

This is a good place to get some Pho. Would recommend. Simple and delicious and won't brake the bank.
Delicious and super fresh! Sweetest family working there
“Home away from home” is how I always describe Luong Loi. We have been customers for many years, starting when they were across Main St. This new location is beautiful, warmly decorated with personal touches (I believe the owner's daughter took the photos on the wall. The food is delicious and fresh tasting. We usually get the Lemongrass Chicken or Regular Pho as they are our favorites, but I have tried and enjoyed the Mongolian Beef, chicken wings and grilled lemongrass chicken. The egg r … – show

I developed a severe headache shortly after dining at the restaurant. I had to go home and take Benadryl. I won’t be returning!

The food was quite good. Next time, I plan to try the Pho, which will be the real test. The combo fried rice with Chinese-style sausage was expertly prepared.
This restaurant is a refined take on your favorite Vietnamese spot. It’s clean, tastefully decorated, and operated by a family of men. A kettle of tea is just 50 cents! The grilled lemongrass chicken is my absolute favorite and is their specialty. Another positive sign is that there are always a few occupied tables, indicating it’s a popular choice. Definitely add this place to your list for dining in!
I’ve been dining at this restaurant for 20 years, and it's truly the most consistent place I’ve ever visited. This Vietnamese restaurant offers a special pho that is simply the most amazing and delicious soup on the planet. I’m also a huge fan of their Thai iced coffee; I literally dream about both of these dishes! The restaurant is located in a beautiful old building with floor-to-ceiling windows and a charming brick interior. It’s a welcoming, family-owned establishment that is absolutely fantastic. Everything on the menu is delicious and incredibly reasonably priced. Be sure to add this place to your must-try list!
We have been going back to Luong Loi for over 30 years ordering the fried egg rolls, beef pho thai, beef fried rice and lemongrass chicken. Absolutely delicious! Thank you!

Noodles were good and cuttle fish was cooked well. The best thing was the shrimp egg rolls. Overall everything was pricey and mostly miss. But it’s downtown Wheaton.
