Wang's Kitchen - Wethersfield
Wang's Kitchen
Description
Wang's Restaurant offers a blend of quality Chinese cuisine and disappointing inconsistencies. While many patrons praise the homemade dumplings and flavorful dishes like Curry Chicken, issues such as overcooked egg rolls and misunderstandings with vegetable substitutions dampen the experience. Customers have noted discrepancies in billing and a lack of freshness in some takeout items. Still, the reasonable prices and quick service draw a loyal crowd, particularly those who navigate the menu with care. With notable strengths in certain dishes, Wang's remains a solid option for Chinese takeout, though caution is advised for first-time diners.

Be cautious of the charges for your order at Wang's restaurant. They initially total up your items on a slip attached to the bag, but then re-calculate the order when you arrive to pick it up. I noticed discrepancies in the total amount charged on a few occasions, where I was overcharged by a small amount. This inconsistency should not happen, regardless of the difference in amounts. While the food is decent, there are some issues to note. The egg rolls are overcooked and difficult to cut, and cabbage is used as a substitute for other vegetables. When ordering a broccoli dish, I expect to receive broccoli as the vegetable. I also found a carrot piece in one dish, which another reviewer claimed was rare. The pasta in the dumplings is thicker than other restaurants, but the sauce is delicious with hints of orange or citrus. The abundance of onions in the Pepper Steak dish overwhelms the intended flavor; adding green peppers would be more appropriate. I no longer order this dish due to the excess onions. Overall, I have not encountered these issues at other takeout restaurants.
I recently tried the fried vegetarian dumplings with chili oil, which were lightly pan-fried and packed with flavor. The General Tso's tofu was on the sweeter side and the tofu was chewy. This restaurant is a great option if you're in the mood for Chinese food and need fast delivery. The prices are also quite reasonable.

Delicious and quick service! I ordered the chicken fried rice with jumbo shrimp combo and the teriyaki beef, and everything was fantastic.
