Was Anonym at Tequila Rio a mag?
We truly appreciated the wait staff, particularly Aiden, who was attentive, friendly, and very kind. The riverside setting is a wonderful bonus, and the heaters provided a cozy touch on a cool day, perfect for wearing our sweaters. It was also a nice surprise when one of the owners stopped by our table. We will definitely return—preferably by the river, but inside if necessary. Evelyn (who made the reservation) with... What Anonym dislikes about Tequila Rio:
The portions were rather small, and the main courses were served before the appetizers. I was also let down by the margaritas. I'm curious if the restaurant is aware of these problems. On a brighter side, the server really did try his hardest. View all feedback.
The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the location. The food had no flavor, the drinks were made with watered down well tequila and the food was served out of a trailer! Might be cool for young people that want to get trashed on cheap booze, but we won’t be going back
A little overpriced for the serving sizes. Mixed drinks were a bit warm. Got part of the order wrong.
We arrived at 5:15 for our 5:30 reservation. There is no indoor seating unless it's raining. The menu is limited, and only bottled beer is offered—no draft options. We ordered the chips and salsa flight, but two of the four salsas were tasteless, while the other two were just average. The much-talked-about view is actually just the side of a graffiti-covered bridge by the river. The margarita, however, was the highlight of our visit and was quite good (Tres Verdes).
We didn’t end up ordering .. the menu had completely changed and none of our favorite dishes or drinks were available . With the 95 degree temp out we didn’t feel it was worth it to try the new menu .. nothing seemed inviting ! Beware open table andsome online apps still show the old menu and offer indoor seating which after making reservations for indoor we arrived to findit was not available . We also attempted to switch to sister restaurant the River but at first we’re told to come back up ifit was too hot but when we came back and said it was too hot and since the menu had completely changed we didn’t want toendure the heat I have MS and heat is not good they turned us away .. had many open tables but they said kitchen was backedup and they were not taking walk ins.. terrible experience all around .. however I love the setting and I’m sure we will goback again on a cooler day to enjoy the setting ! I updated my review to 2 stars .. we did eat here.. everything that hadanything to do with lime was overwhelmingly lime.. the peach drink alcoholic you tasted no peach .. I could not finish it ..ordered something else that was not bad .. was told the mix was made wrong and they agreed with us .. but I was not offered totake it off the bill !! The ceviche was REALLY LIME.. but edible .. the guacamole was good .. my husband burrito was good .. mymeal was awful and I didn’t finish it..again an avocado side that tasted like limes !! The atmosphere is lovely .. I hopethey get it together.. Also my husbands meal came out about 10 minutes before mine ! I would return for the atmosphere andprobably order a chicken quesadilla .. how can you ruin that !
Seeing so many 5 star reviews, I had high hopes for this restaurant but it turned out less impressive. The location: it is probably the only selling point of the place. It’s right by the Connecticut River, close to the bridge. There is a calming, relaxing atmosphere. You may see people kayaking or boating on the river. You may catch beautiful sunset. The location earns itfive star. The drink: it’s mediocre. The margarita tasted watery. The mango or peach margarita did not taste mango or peachat all. They all tasted the same. The drinks were served in a small plastic cup. Very environmental unfriendly! The food: the$18 shrimp taco came out only three small round tacos containing a few tasteless shrimps and one slice of avocado. It’s kindadisappointing and overpriced. The service: We had a company function here. With a big group, we received enough attention. Theservice was fast and friendly. Although I enjoyed the view, I came here in a hope to have good meal and drinks. But I was notsatisfied. I do not think I would have desire to come back.
