How... read more We ate there a few months ago during our vacation. The food was very good. I especially liked the option for vegetarians to choose three appetizers for €15. However, I was very put off by the chef—apparently the owner?—who went around to every table, loudly seeking confirmation that the food was delicious. Furthermore, several guests, including my husband, had ordered gyros, which apparently couldn 't be prepared quickly or in large quantities. My husband and other tables were served before a family who had ordered before our arrival. The family 's adult son, who has a mental disability, was very hungry. After the family pointed out the situation, the owner didn 't apologize or offer a snack to tide them over, but simply made a snide remark: Some children are born earlier, some later, that 's life! Absolutely unacceptable! The son did eventually get his gyros relatively quickly, while his parents were still waiting. Ugh, it was truly embarrassing.

The food arrived qui... read more I don't write this often, but as of May 2024, I can wholeheartedly recommend Diakopes. The service was friendly, very attentive, and quick. The food arrived quickly and tasted very good, with a generous portion – just enough to leave you feeling full and satisfied without having to rush out of the restaurant. I also appreciated that they asked if an ouzo would be okay before pointlessly pouring it. Diakopes is on the higher end of the price range for Westerstede, but we found it entirely reasonable. A successful dinner!
