Nice Bistro cafe. All kinds of coffees. Eclectic menu. Had a pulled pork sandwich with lentil soup. Very good. My partner had a chicken asparagus wrap. Wanted to go for their apple crisp but was too full. They have an outdoor patio with hanging baskets of flowers. It can be busy at peak hours. They are licensed.
I have been here a number of times in the past few years, and have always been pleased with the food. The service is hit or miss depending on what time you go and who is there. It seems like that is an issue with other diners too. However, today the server was bang on and we were seated right away. I love how fresh the food is. My oldest daughter and my husband went with the daily special which was a chicken club sandwich. I am a little disappointed that there is no kids menu because the food is a little pricey and it hard to choose something for a kid that may only eat a few bites. In the end we decided on just an order of French fries for our little one. I chose the Torta Cubana which is a Cuban sandwich with roasted pulled pork, smoked ham, provolone cheese, sweet onions, pickles and chipotle mayo. Food came out in a decent amount of time, but if you are there during peak hours expect a wait. Food was really tasty. I loved my side Caesar salad and my sandwich was delicious. Great flavours in the pork, and the combo of the cheese, sweet onions and chipotle mayo were fantastic. My family enjoyed their dishes as well. I took a bite of my husband's sandwich. I thought it wasn't as flavourful as mine, but the bacon was fantastic! It made the sandwich a higher calibre. My daughter gobbled up the fries, so no complaints there. I also ordered a margarita and it was really well done. Definitely a great stoop if you are on the road and have the time.
I absolutely love the food and service at this charming little café by Pigeon Lake! The staff takes great pride in their coffee menu, and I really appreciate that every coffee drink is served extra hot. I ordered their enormous waffle sandwich, while my husband enjoyed the Reuben. Both dishes were fantastic! And you can't go wrong with onion rings, turkey, and avocado in a waffle sandwich, can you?
For dinner, we had the vegetarian quesadilla and the ricotta and spinach grilled cheese, both accompanied by Caesar salads. They were delicious! I was particularly impressed with the grilled cheese, which featured fantastic bread and a wonderful flavor. They also have an enticing selection of desserts, but we were too full to indulge this time—maybe next time! The staff were very friendly, and our food arrived promptly. The overall atmosphere is quaint and inviting. I would definitely return!
Well tried the jerk pulled pork sandwich, the presentation was excellent. Sandwich was even tasty but does it embody what a jerk chicken sandwich is? Not in my opinion then need to kick it up a notch if they want to claim it as a jerk chicken sandwich. Other than that the food was above average.
