We previously had some disastrous experiences at Wjin. Terrible pizza, cold hamburgers and not bad service but closer to no service. However, the new management have really turned this place around and it's turned into a little gem on the estate, I'd say the best by some margin now. I had the Sunday Roast on June 5th, and it was extremely disappointing. Everything we ordered arrived within 10 minutes, which made it clear that the food was pre-cooked. All the dishes were ice cold, and the chicken was actually raw near the bone. The salad was wilted and soggy, the roast potatoes and vegetables were also cold, and the gravy was almost water-like. After ordering from Wijn numerous times and receiving the best customer service and wine from them, I have had the complete opposite experience this time. I am utterly disappointed and shocked at the service I received with this order. I placed an order on the 15th of April. I then followed up almost a week later as I had heard nothing. Ordered wine from their online shop and the service was absolutely shocking. Delivery times states 2 to 4 days. After no feedback on day 4 an e-mail was sent, no reply. Another e-mail was ignored after this. No phone number is available to speak to anyone. Eventually more than a week later someone phones me that has nothing to do with wine orders and relays messages to me from the owner, who is seemingly untouchable and to good to answer e-mails or return my phone calls. Wijn is always a 6 star! Great vibe, wine, service and views. And brilliant new menu from Chef Bruce. Spring rolls are a win.
