The expensive rooms did not live up to my expectations for a luxury hotel. The noisy AC units made for a difficult night's sleep. The hotel has a great location with access to the Ocean House facilities and nearby Ocean Beach.
The owner of this restaurant is dishonest and provides low customer service. The staff seem to be working together and there is no option for room service pizza or similar items. I also overheard a worker cursing here. I would suggest looking for other dining options.
We were extremely disappointed with our visit at Watch Hill Inn. We have stayed at the Ocean House numerous times and had stayed at Watch Hill Inn in the past and had great experiences. Apparently the management has changed and so has the service. Firstly, their system was down our entire visit. There was no WiFi, the phone service didn’t work, they cancelled/changed our spa appointments and would not allow us to book new ones. In one of our suites, there was no air conditioning in the bedroom which is unheard of. I have never heard of a hotel not having an AC unit in a room especially when paying over 1000/night. I asked multiple times to switch rooms but they could not accommodate and asked for a fan at least but waited hours to get one and they were unable to get me a second one. I’m not sure what happened with this property but it was extremely disappointing and definitely overpriced. A shame.
