I would highly recommend The Malted Barley. We are gluten free and they have tons of options for us! We got a tasting of the ciders and some cocktails as well as a gluten free pretzel! The cocktails were okay but it’s more of a beerplace anyway. Gluten free pretzel was delicious! Not the same as a regular pretzel obviously but it was still excellent and ourserver was delightful. I didn’t catch her name but she had such a cute snake tattoo on her finger. All in all I can’t waitto come back to try what they have on draft next and get more gluten free goodness ????

Beer selection was small but the choices were excellent. $12 for a foccacia , which just wound up being four small slices of bread with a compound butter on the side.Overall a mixed bag. I 'd definitely go here on a sunny day for a beer or two, but then hop over to a different bar with morereasonable prices.

The service is incredible and the food will blow your mind. Not to mention their drink menu is fantastic and very creative. Onething to note since everything is local the menu changes fast. So go ahead and order that extra dish because you'll absolutelylove it We can't wait to go back next time we're in town.

W... read more There are three things we really enjoyed about our experience here. First, and this caught us off-guard, is that the intention is for the plates to be shared. We didn't know that walking in. The plates are more generous than at a typical tapas restaurant,which is perfect, because you really want to try as many things as possible from the menu. Second, everything was farm-to-table and there was lots of fresh veg. It was wonderful to have fresh veg be a prominent part of each dish. Third, thefood was delicious. Once you order, the chef curates the order of the dishes to give the best flavor sensation. If you are tiredof the same old, same old, try The Shallows for a delightful change of pace.

We were also charged for additionalcrackers for the cheese plate. While not unheard of, generosity is clearly not in the spirit of The Shallows (maybe the nameshould have told us! . Service was just OK. Won?t return.
