YES this place knows how to do pastries. Their pain au chocolat and savory croissants are flakey buttery crafted with care. Their croissants are similarly amazing. Got their ham egg and cheese, i was a bit disappointed the eggs weren't seasoned and the cheese was American. But hey for $4 it's a huge sandwich, definitely fills you up. Thankful to find a place with a savory pastry even just the one! Would absolutely co... View all feedback.
What Steve B doesn't like about The Baker's Bench:
used to be a regular customer, then I was harassed by a low IQ old couple who were terrified because I was not wearing a dust mask. instead of asking them to leave me alone, the owner, who also did not have a mask got within 16 inches of my face with her uncovered face, and asked me to leave if I would not allow unintelligent strangers to dictate my fashion choices, and demand I wear PPE to wait in line to buy baked... I love the bakers bench!!! Good is delicious!! Service is excellent! I’ve been going there for years! I had their famous Thanksgiving Sandwich! Yum! And of course pastries! Yum! Wheelchair accessibility: It’s bumpy and someone would have to hold the door for a wheelchair but you can get in and out. Parking lot is limited so I usually park across the street. They’re very friendly. Call ahead and ask what they’d do for a person in a wheelchair. It’s worth asking. Or. Ring someone with you to help you. :
Love love love this place- nothing fancy, but don’t let that fool you! absolutely delicious baked goods. I have never had a cream horn that was as good as theirs! Fast and friendly too.
One of the best bakeries. Tried egg and cheese on a croissant few times and always comes out perfect. Pastries, cookies and cupcakes are fresh and delicious. Staff is great and service is fast.

I was asked to leave for refusing to participate in mentally ill people propaganda/ obedience signaling exercise. I will not be back or recommend you anymore.
Honestly, the bakers bench isn’t what it used to be. I seriously loved their Westbrook clubs. I haven’t had a sandwhich here for over a year. I recommend it to everyone when they’re looking for a spot in the area, but I won’t be doing that after today. Today after a long hard day at work I finally got out early enough to make it over before they close at 3. Because of their hours I never get to eat here anymore. I walk in the door so excited to order my Westbrook club at 2pm on the dot. Literally on. The. Dot. Apparently they stop serving lunch at 2. For a small local business, to deny me an order for one sandwhich at exactly 2:01, is pretty BS in my opinion especially when I traveled as far as I did to get there. The people aren’t friendly anymore, and they just don’t care at all about the customers, and plus they don’t serve the sandwiches with pickles. Place is going under, I won’t be back and I won’t recommend anymore. I don’t care how good the peanut butter brownies are, service is everything to me.m, and they just don’t care about their customers at all.
