I could only rate 4 stars due to the rain and obviously was no fault of restaurant. That said, with the screens down we were limited with what we could see and unfortunately missed the scenery that surrounds Mission Hill since this is el fresco dining. Seats were a little damp, but we and all guests were provided blankets. Plates were very good, wine pairing was spot on. View all feedback.
We signed up for the 6 course Legacy tasting menu as part of our honeymoon and it was an absolutely excellent meal. All the food was 10 10 so fresh, local and well balanced and the wine pairing was excellent. Really great selection and they were very helpful with letting us try those not on the wine flight! We would have loved to have been told a bit more about all the wines as we went through the flight we felt a little like we had to keep asking for the story of the wines (other than grape variety) which was a shame given we were very keen to learn more! However when we did make a point of asking, they did get the sommelier over who was wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable! Great service otherwise very attentive and lovely in a very nice setting!
I want to start off by saying service was very good here our server was attentive, enthusiastic and clearly making an effort. The food (we had the 2 course lunch) was also decent albeit in very small portions. We do not have any specific complaints. The only downside was that the whole experience felt like a bit of a let down. Perhaps it was the photos which made the restaurant appear much grander or higher up on a hill, or the fact that the shades were drawn so we couldn't really see the view (which was a large part of the draw for us), or the fact that it was pretty windy/chilly for August. The shades were probably the main reason why without the views, it ended up feeling like we were just eating in a narrow hallway.
Pros great food it's all pairing no separate menu and it cost $150.00 per person. Not well described on website delicious wines lots of parking great service from Amy they offer nice soft blankets for outdoor eating and heater above CONS only negative I can say is helicopter landing and taking off right by where we are eating. Ridiculous. Put the landing pad away from where your guests are eating. Not only the smell of fuel but the noise hurt my ears. VERY TACKY for such a fancy restaurant.
We were offered two choices for our starter and main. Generally I don’t like limited options but this wasn’t a problem. You can also add on items like pommes frites and dessert. I suspect the menu changes, although I’m not sure. Originally we had asked for a lakeside table but there was a miscommunication and another staff member gave our table away. However our amazing hostess was able to move us to that side shortly after we sat down. Living in the North we appreciated the mist which helped keep us a bit cooler. Service was top notch and we’ll happily return when we’re back in town.
