Sushi Gallery - West Vancouver

Surprisingly inexpensive sushi with decent quality.

I came across this restaurant review on the front page of Yelp on December 22nd and decided to bookmark it for future reference. I visited the restaurant before the end of the year.

Sushi Gal is fantastic! It is definitely one of my favorite go-to restaurants.

Two years ago I returned a dish I had ordered because it was deep fried and it didn't say so on the menu. The owner became very irate and started shouting at me and shaming me in front of everyone in the restaurant, as he threw the food into the garbage can, accusing me of making him lose money. He might have lost a total of 25 cents and for that, he made a scene. I should add that I had been a regular customer for several years prior to this incident. Now fast forward two years and I went to the cashier to pay my bill. I gave her some money and I thought she has short changed me by 75 cents. Instead of saying that I was mistaken, she accused me of being a liar in front of everyone in the restaurant, then started shouting at me for sending food back (two years prior) and told me not to come back any more !!! And I had intended to put that 75 cents change in the tip jar !!! That's the thanks I get for more than five years of patronage ! At this restaurant, the customer is always wrong! DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED !!!

Had lunch with my daughter. Good classical sushi with a wide range of vegetarian choice. Free misu soup as well. The portions were good. Taste is great. Clean and well priced. One thing..hing though, I believe they need to cut down on the amount of rice. Service was good as well.
