great fish and the best curry sauce around. their chips can be hit and miss and sometimes slightly understated prices are good and it is amazingly clean .recommend to any one responded in the opposing owner date had just left Saturday and the time was about 7pm. service was fantastic as always, but the chips needed to keep the big work View all feedback.
What meggo2003 doesn't like about The Good Catch:
Called into this chippy on many occasions and the food is excellent there is variety loved it staff were polite and chatty but the service is very slow but this won't put me off View all feedback.
The fries are very greasy and lacking in salt and vinegar, which makes them a bit disappointing. Additionally, they do not offer curry, which is not ideal for those looking for variety in their meal options.
I hadn't visited this chip shop in years, but suddenly found myself in need of some chip shop chips with only 5 minutes notice. It will likely be a few more years until I return, as the portions were small and not cheap. Orrel chip shop offers a larger and more affordable standard portion compared to the pricey large portion at Good Catch. The service was lacking, as I paid with a £5 note and received my change solely in silver coins.
We have been enjoying meals at this restaurant for about 15 years. Despite undergoing a few renovations and even experiencing a fire, the great service and delicious food have remained consistent. While it may not be the most inexpensive option, it is still worth it for the occasional meal.
Best fish, chips and mushy peas I've had in years. The fish is so fresh it melts in your mouth. Will definitely go again. A bit confused by the address though, it's in Up Holland.
Good chippy, I'd even say one of the best in the area. Not quite as good as the legendary Croston chippy in its Hey day, but not far behind. Worth a try
