I’ve been here about times however the last times really poor service from waitresses forgetting items, taking long time to bring drinks etc, the food portions have also reduced, food not consistent. I used to recommend this to everyone but unfortunately we won’t...be back. View all feedback.
The Eagle and child is an old charming pub rightly considered to be the best pub in the area, it regularly features in the good food and good beer guides.
A snooty prestensious restaurant operating out of a flee-bitten, dog-eared old pub in a weird, inbred area at the back end of nowhere.

Lovely setting and the steak pie was exceptionally tasty! Would recommend
Extremely poor service (50 minutes from seating on time for our table until starters finally came). Similar story for the mains. We’d booked this birthday meal months in advance, yet the manager suggested we should be more patient as we were a large table (8 people by the way). Not the place it used to be.
