What User doesn't like about Johnny's Italian Steakhouse West Chester:
I made a reservation weeks in advance. We waited five minutes for someone at our table to sit down, and then they quickly prepared our table, which hadn’t been set. Our waiter took our drink and appetizer orders, and the appetizers arrived in about 15 minutes. However, after waiting 40 minutes, we still hadn’t received our drinks. The waiter never returned to check on our food order. When we inquired about the drinks... View all feedback.
What a hidden little gem in a Holiday Inn! The ribeye i ordered was the best I have had in years! Cooked, flavored, tender to perfection! I will be back for certain!
The present hyperbole of online descriptors and hyped menu summation should be ignored. Everything was mediocre at best. Our server, though new and admittedly working from a learners curve was attentive and pleasant, if sometimes excusably confused. Drinks from the bar were surprisingly reasonable. Mixed drinks properly made and beers not over priced. Value for the food was ok , preparation and presentation average or just less than. If dining here, I would stick with the basics and not order anything too in-depth or anything sauced. I was unaware that this restaurant is part of the holiday inn complex. For an in-house holiday inn restaurant, it is good. As a standalone restaurant not pulling from a captive stream of hotel guests, in my opinion it wouldn’t last very long.
Service was very slow and we had to ask multiple times for different items through the meal. Two people in our party ordered steaks and they were both over cooked. The only enjoyable things we got were the fresh bread and spinach and artichoke dip. Would not recommend this place.
The restaurant design is beautiful and the ambiance is very nice. We were waited on by Omar, who was very kind and polite. The bread was really good and the spinach dip was good, not spectacular, but tasted okay. We both ordered steak, one with parm encrusting and the other with horseradish. Our steaks were cooked to proper temperature but had almost no seasoning and tasted like they had been marinated with seafood. We both ended up spitting out our first bites and did not eat anything else. My horseradish encrusting did not come out with my steak, and when they brought it back out it tasted like parm, not horseradish even though they insisted it was. When I asked for the check, Omar didn’t even ask why none of the food was eaten or even offer us to go containers. I think he could tell we were pretty unhappy and just looked at us and said, “I’m sorry.” I didn’t make a big deal about it. I just paid the check and we left. I have eaten here several years earlier and remember the food being very good. I don’t know what happened this time but the entrees were absolutely awful.
Went there as girlfriend and boyfriend. And I left engaged!! Great food great service.
