I stopped here for a coffee while visiting the Herbert Hoover National Monument. It's a lovely little town! The cold brew was delicious and just what we needed before hitting the road again. The ladies at the café were very friendly, too. Definitely support this local spot! View all feedback.
What Lon Kluxdal dislikes about The Serving Cafe:
We were the only ones in the restaurant for the first five minutes, but then a group of 12 arrived, and things went downhill from there. Although the menu advertised air frying, about a third of the food was burnt and had a strong burnt smell. We spent $75 for three adults and two kids, including an 18-month-old, and we didn’t feel we got our money's worth. In my opinion, you can find a better deal elsewhere. View all feedback.

Stopped at Hoover National Park and found this gem! I’m gluten sensitive and they were able to make me the most amazing GF toast to go with my bacon and eggs. It’s hard to find GF options in many places as I travel across the US. It’s just a couple of minutes off I-80 and so worth it. If I lived here, I’d be a regular for sure. Will def make this a stop the next time in Iowa. Service top notch too!
What a fantastic way to kick off the day! On our way to an Iowa game, we needed some great food to gear up for it. The restaurant was spotless, and the staff was incredibly helpful. We enjoyed coffee, lattes, their delicious homemade cinnamon rolls, smoothies, pancakes, gluten-free French toast, bacon, eggs, hash browns, and biscuits with gravy. Everything was amazing and made fresh! The owner even came out to check on us. I wish we lived in Iowa!
Great cafe! The iced lattes are good and the breakfast options are all tasty. A great place to stop when you're passing through!
3-4 weeks ago, driving from NYC to Wa. State, I dropped into Serving Cafe parched and starving. Jennifer and crew fixed me up with great chicken sandwich and ice cold drink. Chatted up the business with Ms. Jennifer. After a year, it's a going business. Naturally, with her running it. Much encouragement flowing yur way from a customer hoping to return. JBrown

Nestled in a charming locale, this restaurant presents a mixed bag of dining experiences. While the atmosphere features inviting exposed stone walls and friendly service, dish quality often falls short. Diners report issues with overcooked menu items, particularly from the air fryer, while specialty burgers and paninis sometimes disappoint with underwhelming accompaniments. The wait times can be prolonged, exacerbated by kitchen miscommunications. Despite these challenges, some patrons appreciate the vibrant vibe and the potential for a fun night out, especially if you're keen on drinks rather than dining. Overall, the establishment has potential but needs consistency to match its charm.

I came across this hidden gem while traveling on I-80. The cider was exceptional, and the blue cheese burger was absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic as well. I highly recommend stopping by for a treat!
This is a lovely little restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was also quite good.
Waitress is a piece of work. Made fun of my accent. Doesn’t feel welcomed at all.
We went to the Down Under to watch the game. It was very busy when we arrived. It appeared that there was one person taking care of the bar and all of the tables, I believe her name was Shawna. She did absolutely great! There was an issue with some children running around and she handled that situation great. We ordered nachos and they were delicious. This place has such a cool atmosphere and we will definitely be going back.

The food was amazing! I really enjoyed the turkey bacon avocado dish. The price per person was around $20 to $30. I would rate the food a 5, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 4. There is free street parking available.
Situated conveniently in downtown West Branch, this restaurant is literally located 'down under' in the basement of the building. We might not have discovered it without the helpful sidewalk sign. The space is delightful, featuring charming old brick and foundation walls. The service was outstanding! As for the food, it was standard bar fare. The Philly sandwich had great seasoning, while the Ultimate panini was lacking in flavor. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5.
The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, due to the noise level, there was a mix-up with our order; we received sandwiches that weren't what we ordered, though they seemed somewhat similar. We also experienced a long wait because, as the waitress informed us, the kitchen had burnt our original sandwiches and had to remake them. While we ended up eating what we were served, the fries arrived cold, and the bun on my sandwich was overly toasted and too hard to bite into. However, the waitress generously comped our sodas and provided us with a coupon for a free appetizer. Since we were just passing through, it’s unlikely we’ll return to this area. If we were locals, we would consider coming back, especially for the BBQ cheddar burgers that looked so tempting. Next time, I’d definitely make sure to point to the menu while ordering to avoid any further misunderstandings.
We were the only 1s in there, for the first 5 minutes, than 12 people came in and it went down hill from there. Granted the menu said air fried, but 1/3 of the portions were so burnt they smelled burned. For the price of what we ordered was $75.00 for 3 adults and 2 kids, 8 18 mo. We didn't get our monies worth. You can get a better deal elsewhere, in my opinion. Price per person: $10–20

The restaurant has a clean and intriguing atmosphere, featuring exposed stone walls. The server was polite and offered some helpful suggestions. We ordered a rib basket, which was enjoyable and came with two excellent sauces: traditional and maple. I opted for the Bear Burger special (named after the local high school mascot). The burger was nicely grilled to medium, but the bun was somewhat frozen. The fries were extremely salty, and the ketchup had an unusual taste.
