We checked out the website and travelled from the Gold Coast. It was worth it. The ladies were very welcoming, te salsa music played every minute which was great. Everything was fresh and with many typical dishes available. Prices very reasonable and we felt at...home. We would go back anytime. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tayrona Cafe:
The food is bland, unimaginative and worst of all: the menu is a lie. Order an arepas with "portobello, roasted capsicum and onions" and what you get is baked mushroom (champignon, not portobello) and strips of slightly grilled fresh capsicum, with hardly a shred of onion on some basic lettuce. The arepas themselves are dry and tasteless compared to elsewhere. Everything was fresh, is the one good thing to note.Servi... View all feedback.
A nice simple cafe right next to the post office They serve great coffee and you can buy 1 kg bags of beans The draw card is their Colombian menu.

View isn't very good (corner of a parking lot) and there's at least three lunch restaurants within 50 meters, better in all three ways. Try them instead, since Tayrona isn't any cheaper either.
After falling in love with Colombian food, to find a place here in Brisbane that is authentic and recreates some Colombian meals is a life saver. Food at Tayrona gets a 5 out of 5 for flavour, authenticity and presentation. Yes, I am biased, but, you have to try this place. Sorry, I haven't tried the regular Australian type food there, because, why would you? You are going to go there to get the flavours of Colombia. So if you are going to go there and you're a gringo, try different FOOD!Service 4 out of 5. What I love about this place is that it is so relaxed and free flowing. Some Spanish speaking people come and go, talk and laugh. It's what I like! This cafe has a life! I am half expecting a guy with a trolly and speakers to roll up on the path with their speakers playing Latin music like the seventh street in Bogota Colombia. That would be awesome! Coffee & Drinks: 5 out of 5, well if the food flavours come why wouldn't you bring the drink flavours? And they do, from the bottled Cola Pola, juice of guanabana, lulo, mango, and more I believe. But the Coffee, the coffee is more of a mild coffee, not too heavy not to light it is perfect. Well not quite as good as a fresh tinto ground from fresh beans.Design & Furnishing: This one's hard, if going for an authentic appearance it rates well, if not then it is more on the basic side. Because I like this place so much, I'm going to lean towards more of the authentic feel. There is no air conditioning, so if you are having lunch on a 35-degree day order lots of juices, God, try each type of juice. Overall, Tayrona gets a 3.5 out of 5, if they used wooden bench seats and wood (not veneer covered tables) they would hit 5 out of 5!Overall I highly recommend trying the food at Tayrona but flick to the Colombian menu! I rate this place 5 out of 5
The restaurant is drawn into the mollison street and has a lively feeling. the owner and the staff are helpful and friendly. eating was especially the Tilapia table delicious. I wish we lived in brisb and could go regularly.
My experience at this restaurant was tasteless and disappointing. The staff was unhelpful, the menu was unclear, the portions were small, and the prices were too high for the quality of food we received.
