We arrived to sit outside on a sunny July evening with our grown daughters and two dachshunds. The waitress took our drinks order. She was kind but could not advice when asked about the food, as she had not tried the food herself. We are experienced in dining at local German restaurants and normally you get really good, authentic food. But not here. We ordered a pork schnitzel with asparagus: A total letdown extremely over cooked asparagus, maybe not fresh? The hollandaise was certainly not homemade probably from a bottle, next to the meat was potato croquettes I know this type when I see them in the freezer at the supermarket! Next person got a chicken breast with curry/pineapple sauce and rice. Frankly the rice and chicken were not bad unfortunately the artificial (maybe Uncle Bens? sauce really destroyed the whole meal... extremely sweet and not with any hint of real curry, but instead overcooked canned pieces of pineapple Our daughters order one tomato soup and one bruschetta the first was similar in taste to a bad Dolmio sauce I once tasted at a picnic!!! Really awful and the bruschetta was strange soggy tomatoes without taste on basic white toast bread. Frankly we were very surprised to get such a poor meal at a small town with seemingly many tourists and locals. In Germany the local Biergarten often serves honest food of a good quality... but avoid this place for anything but the beer, which was good.
A lovely evening with wonderful food. The food was fantastic and plentiful. The fresh produce was used. Great! The value for money was absolutely reasonable. The service was more than attentive. The ambiance is a bit dated. It could be improved. All in all, very, very good food and great service. I will definitely be back. Thank you!
Food and service like in the Middle Ages. If you would like the schnitzel to come without fries but with salad or vegetables: the chef won't do that! If you ask, just the schnitzel: the cook will put the fries on it anyway, so you don't have to eat them! The waitress screams into the room when serving the dishes, unbearable when paying later, no Apple Pay, no credit cards and no Paypal... we had to go halfway across town to the ATM to pay in cash. With a large group of 35 people over 1000 euros... boss unreasonable
