Comfortable, clean, hotel staff are friendly, reasonable price, simple breakfast. Highly recommend knowing at least some basic German before travelling here. Great little pizza restaurant called Pizzeria Nonna within 5mins walking distance that has super tasty Indian food if you ask the owner.
My car was towed and I had to pay €260 to get it back. All because of the hotel owner's instruction to park my car in the carpark in front. She even assured me parking is free. She did not warned me not to park on Friday night. She expects that I will understand German signage inspite of knowing fully I'm an English tourist. By the way this is not to mention that the hotel bed is sagging and gave me a back ache after just staying 2 nights and the whole hotel smells like cigarette. I will never stay in this hotel again when I visit Essen!
