Just returned from an absolutely fabulous meal. The food was wonderful and beautifully prepared. Our server was very warm and friendly and very helpful. You would never expect to find such a fine restaurant in the middle of the Laurentians. You will not be disappointed!
We were a party of four and had made a reservation in advance. The food was excellent, as was the service. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy, making us feel right at home. We ordered the filet mignonette, chicken steak, contre filet, and linguini Romanov, and all of the dishes were delicious. The desserts were also very good. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
Husband wife run restaurant in a beautiful log home. There are only or tables, so phone ahead to reserve. The quality of food is excellent and the service is attentive. Check out the website menu. It is difficult to find decent restaurants...in the area minutes northwest of Morin Heights), but this restaurant is well worth the trip. The smoked salmon and the crab cakes appetizers are delicious. As noted previously the couple are francophone, but are extremely friendly, accommodating and we had no problem communicating with one another.
Our group had the room to ourselves on a Thursday evening. The hand made whole log restaurant was filled with many small touches and objects d'art. It was absolutely charming. The service by Denise was flawless and Mario's cooking was perfection. My Tartare de Saumon...Fumé Maison was excellent, my wife had an innovative Crabe Cake et sa Mayonnaise épicée. For mains I had a tender Steak aux Poivres that was cooked to a flawless rare. My wife's Contre Filet sur Charcaol wonderful. We shared a unique Crème Brûlée au Foie Gras de Canard.
Our group of eight adventurous souls set out from our home base at Lac-des-Seize-Îles to try this new' spot one of us had heard about in Wentworth-North. Run by a newly married couple out of a beautiful log structure, it is tucked away in the...woods off a secondary road not too far from the main centres of Saint-Sauveur and Morin Heights, QC. I'll admit my expectations were not particularly high, as great restaurants are few and far between in this part of the world. Last evening however it would be fair to say that I was blown away. Not the best' meal I've ever eaten. That destination belongs to Tru in Chicago, or maybe Le Cirque, in NYC. But this place is good. Very good. I began with the pan seared Fois Gras. Wonderful. Then the veal chop so perfectly prepared I almost didn't need a knife to cut it with. Although I passed on desert, several of my compatriots sampled a range of delightful looking home made offerings. The wine list is not extensive, but you should have little difficulty finding a bottle suitable to your taste. And prices are fair. If you find yourself in the Laurentians of Québec, do not hesitate to seek this place out, even if you have to invest an hour or more to get there. Fantastic food. Friendly owners. Good value. Note that the staff do not speak much English, but they are very accommodating, and patient.
