We have previously eaten at Sakonis and the food and service have been acceptable. Last Saturday, accompanied by a couple new to Indian food, we made a late decision to celebrate a wedding anniversary at Sakonis. Despite assurances given over the phone, when booking an hour before arriving, the food that was meant to be mild was most definitely not mild! This was problematic for our friends and they had to leave a lot of it uneaten. A member of staff who served us was chewing furiously while serving! And when the table was fairly full the member of staff, arriving with a new dish, just shrugged shoulders and waited for us to make room rather than help reorganise the table to accommodate the new dish. Even though we made clear that we wanted some dishes as starters, everything arrived together, leaving the table full of plates. The quality of food was not in any way praiseworthy. And the cheek of adding 12.5% on the bill for sevice that was slow, inconsiderate, and quite unsatisfactory. Sakonis is off our list of a possible venue.
