What Heather S doesn't like about The Captain's Table And Takeaway:
Lack of management caused over an hour wait for a table. Long wait for food and staff standing around without direction. Tables could have been cleared and checks finalized. Food was fine. View all feedback.

Discovered this great place just a few months ago, and I am so glad that I did! Excellent shop and dining establishment. The fish is SO fresh, there is a lot of variety and the staff are professional and friendly. Had dinner there with friends, just last week, and we all were thrilled by our meals and the great service. I buy fresh salmon from the shop regularly, to cook at home, as well. I’ll be a regular customer there from now on!
Great food!! Really enjoyed it and the service was great. Looking forwards to our next visit.
I must write a review of this restaurant that we visited tonight, with great expectations of a seafood experience. my wife wanted fried garnel so that she found this seafood restaurant in wellesley, which had great reviews and I had hoped because they have their own market, similar to Fishermen’s view on the cape, which is par no outside of lousiana seafood, although boston sail loft is also excellent. I called to make a reservation, the hostess told us that they did not make reservations, but tables were open. we drove about 30 minutes to get there. when we arrived, it was packed up what assured us we were for a contract or if it seems. there were lines out of the door to pick up. we found a table and we were brought menus. the waiter was a young man, so I didn't expect much, and he didn't disappoint. menus were taken and were simple, and I like that. I ordered a coffee after a long day in the clinic and yuci ordered a water. I ordered the roared seafood plate with French pommes and koleslaw for $24 and my wife ordered the fried garnels with this veggie mixture and coleslaw for $19. the prices seemed reasonable when you assume that plates were well prepared. our meals lasted almost 30 minutes to prepare and the foot traffic was really impressive. it was nonstop. my coffee came warm and old, the kitchen was ten meters away and I could see the coffee station. our waiter never checked us once after drinking until he brought the food. behold, he was not busy, he stood only about 10 feet away and stood still. I always tried to get a look from every person in the hope to get a fresh cup of coffee, but when they got their eyes, they just saw them away. when he showed up with our food, he did not offer serviettes, no sauces, nothing. I asked for sauces and he brought a small cup of each. he was a young boy, so I thought he was a family member of the leadership that made it out. I was there for the food everyone was in the line. the plates were small. very small. my boiled seafood had this strange teig on it as if they had just baked what they had baked in the same teig, only it was burned on the top and wet mossus on the bottom. the garnels, all three, were over boiled, gummy and old. the piece fish was maybe 4” and there were about 5 small skallops. it was bland and very disappointing. yucis teller came with a veggie that she had not ordered, a veggie that wasn't even on the menu. they made the change without asking us. the only spicy was in the diligent, and to keep it consistent, their garnels were over boiled. it was a terrible experience and I felt sorry and sadness for the people who fulfilled this place, in which they realized that they think this is good. it was terrible from beginning to end. when they hear from this little place, they go on. it's not good. continue to boston and experience the boston sail loft or take a trip to the cape and experience the Fisherman’s view in sandwich. I don't like to ever insult, but wendys would have been a better choice. I'm sorry for the hard review, I'm trying to be positiw, but this place didn't offer any opportunity. who says it's just sadness and no understanding of what seafood should be. if this place wants to be good, even decent, they have a lot of changes they have to make.
Large roasted seafood, warm atmosphere, fun environment
