Reviews - Juniper
Reviews summary
Juniper offers a mixed dining experience that has drawn both praise and criticism. While some guests laud the wonderful ambiance, exceptional drinks, and standout dishes like Chicken Tagine and unique cocktails, others express disappointment with the quality of food and service. Complaints about bland appetizers, undercooked meals, and disorganized service marred the experience for many, alongside concerns about kid-friendliness and reservations. Despite the charm of outdoor seating and attentive servers in quieter moments, diners suggest that Juniper may need to improve food consistency and customer service to fully realize its potential as a dining destination.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner at this exceptional restaurant. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the service was attentive, contributing to a lovely evening.
I highly recommend the Lamb Bolognese; it was rich and flavorful, featuring perfectly cooked pasta that paired wonderfully with the sauce. The Baba Ghanouj also stood out, boasting a creamy texture and a delightful smoky flavor that lingered pleasantly.

What Mojijoon dislikes about Juniper:
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The service was lacking; the waiter was missing for most of our visit, and we eventually had to seek him out ourselves because we were tired of waiting and just wanted to pay and leave. The food was of poor quality and quite dry; I struggled to chew and swallow the falafel. One of my favorite appetizers is baba ghanoush, so I always order it when it's available. Unfortu... Today is a rainy day and dinner is a hassle My husband cut his hair and went to Juniper !!But they don’t even give me water hing I know you're busy, but...I know it's a popular restaurant, but...Let's start...Still, everything was good except my younger daughter’s food (Lamb bolognese) !!Only my younger daughter's pasta didn't suit my taste. All the other foods were delicious, especially the Braised beef shortrib. It was really delicious
What a pleasant experience!Cozy atmosphere with an awesome playlist, delicious food, perfect service!Strongly recommend.Thank you.
A very interesting modern approach to Mediterranean food. Ample veggie options, the muhammara is fantastic. Great atmosphere and very good service. One of the best options in Wellesley.

We visit this restaurant regularly and always have a wonderful experience. They offer a diverse selection of excellent dishes, and the Bolognese is one of my favorites. Their cocktails are quite impressive as well, making it a reliable choice overall. The date cake is an amazing dessert, although it's quite large, so sharing it might be a good idea. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow, and they don't have high chairs available. It would also be nice if they updated their menu from time to time; however, this is only a concern for us since we come here so often.
The food was exquisite, and the ambiance was wonderful. My server was incredibly attentive and delivered outstanding service! The hummus and pita were particularly delicious, and the drinks were definitely worth sampling. Overall, I have no complaints—it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience!
It was an unforgettable experience, both in terms of the food quality and the ambiance. I would gladly give it a full 5 stars without a second thought. I had the pleasure of dining outdoors on a beautiful summer evening, surrounded by globe lights, trees, and the moon. The delicious dishes were so enjoyable that I couldn't help but savor the leftovers for the next couple of days.

Neighborhood gem! Be sure to queue up early to enjoy the fine food here. Service is best when you are seated and order taken. When it's busy, you'll need to flag down a waiter, although everyone was responsive when we reached out. Vegetarian options: Appreciate veggie options Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

On my mother’s recommendation, I bought a $75 gift certificate for my sister on 10/12, and my credit card shows the charge. However, neither my sister nor I received the certificate. I called three times and spoke to a server who said he would inform his supervisor. I also left one voicemail. Today, the voicemail box is full, just as it was the last time I called during business hours last week. My next step will be to contact my credit card company and report this dishonest behavior. I checked their website for other ways to get in touch, but there’s no contact form—only a phone number. I’m extremely disappointed with their management and business practices in 2023.
Juniper exceeded all my expectations! It was the best meal and service I’ve experienced in years, offering a truly outstanding dining experience. Our server Alexandra was wonderful—she went above and beyond to explain the menu and helped us choose a delicious variety of dishes. Her knowledge of every detail on the menu, as well as the cocktail and wine selections, was impressive. She was warm and friendly, making us feel completely at home. One bite of my meal was so incredible it brought tears to my eyes. Everything is made from scratch with rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The cocktails are genuine craft creations. The cozy, small round booths add to the charm of Juniper, perfectly matching the lovely town of Wellesley. The atmosphere is welcoming and community-focused. Even if you’re not typically drawn to Mediterranean cuisine, don’t let that stop you—every item on the menu promises a unique and unforgettable taste. We sampled six different dishes, and each one was distinctive, delicious, and something I’d happily enjoy again. Now I’m eager to try the entire menu! I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend Juniper, especially since it was recommended to us!
This restaurant is a sister location to Sweet Basil in Needham. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, even though our seating area felt a bit tight; it still maintained a cozy vibe. The dip and fluffy pita bread were amazing. I actually preferred my date's dish, which was the short rib, but the schnitzel was delightfully crispy, and I especially loved the fried capers on top. The salmon had beautifully crispy skin. Unfortunately, the salad was disappointing; the sesame dressing was bland, even when we asked for extra on the side. However, the date cake was the standout—it was incredibly moist with just the right amount of sweetness, perfectly paired with the light whipped cream on top and crumbled pecans on the side. I would definitely come back and I'm looking forward to trying the drink menu next time!
A cherished destination! The food is exceptional, the service is top-notch, and the ambiance is wonderful. The location is distinctive and enhances the overall appeal. The drinks are amazing! The bread and dips are a real treat, with the Mahumara being a standout. The Chicken Tagine is always delicious, as is everything else on the menu! It’s a delightful experience! There is also outdoor seating available when the weather is pleasant!
This is a place I find myself coming back to repeatedly. The food is consistently excellent, and the dips are remarkable. The bartenders are exceptional; whether I choose something from the menu, request a special drink, or let them pick for me, I'm never let down. Additionally, it's a wonderful venue for a date, keeping an old tradition alive!

I had an amazing experience, both with the food and the ambiance. I would award it five stars without any hesitation. Eating outside on a beautiful summer evening, surrounded by string lights, trees, and the moon, felt absolutely enchanting. I couldn't get enough of the delicious dishes, and I even brought some home to enjoy over the next couple of days.
Update: went again and the service was a bit lack lustre. Food was good but we were served in terrible plates, one was chipped quite a lot and I can't believe the person who plated as well as the server did not see it. We were sitting at the bar first, waiting for our table and when our table was ready, our drinks had not yet arrived. When we asked what to do about it, will the drinks come to our table, the hostess/ server said just bring them with you when it's ready and come over to the table which was at the end of the restaurant, so quite a bit of walk with glasses filled to the brim with drinks. I don't know if it was too much to expect that they would at least offee to bring the drinks to the table . But a tad bit disappointed with that. The sitting was not the best table or ambience but we were okay with that. I would expect a little more when it's one of the good restaurants in the area and when you end up giving a tip of 20% and more each time. ... First visit: Terrific food and service like other Dave Becker establishments. Walked in at 7:30 on Friday and was able to get a table indoors right away. Food servings (mains)are huge and are easily shareable between two or even three people. Everything we ordered tasted fantastic. Had the baba ghanouj and charred octopus for appetizers along with two cocktails. The cocktails were on point and the apps just as good. We ordered just one entree, the ghalieh mahi(seafood stew with saffron rice) to share between two people and it was a humongous portion. It came with tons of seafood and the stew was served hot and fresh. It was so good that we ate everything and had nothing left to bring home. I swear I ate three times more than I usually eat but it was so good. We could not eat any dessert as we were obviously more than full. Service was relaxed and friendly. Highly recommend this place.
This is by far the best restaurant in Wellesley. It's one of my favorites in Boston all around. Great flavors, consistent, inventive cocktails, fun vibe. Great service. Romantic atmosphere, would be great for a date.
The food was wonderful and the ambiance was fantastic! My server was very attentive and delivered excellent service. The hummus and pita were outstanding, and the drinks were definitely worth ordering. I have no complaints at all; everything was genuinely delightful!
