Pizza was excellent. The Capri salad was also very good. Service was ok... slow and forget something.
We live in Weinheim and visit the Stadtschaenke regularly. The Pizza is freshly baked in a wood fired oven and definitely the best you can get in Weinheim. I haven 't tried any of the other pricey italian things on the menu yet, I have to admit....The service is friendly and helpful and they are kids frindly, too. When we went there last time, we were cheered and helped with our pram, no problem at all. Service is typically fast and professional. Yes, the atmosphere is a bit tired the interior hasn 't changed a bit since I know the restaurant and as I grew up in Weinheim that 's been for quite some time now ; If you don 't like the interior, you can sit outside in the summer. Other options recommendations for Italian food beyond Pizza in Weinheim are Mario Maria in the Birkenauertalstrasse (up scale chic Italian cuisine or La Locanda in the Alte Post right opposite the Stadthalle (typical Tuscan cuisine one of our favorites .
I love the pizzas at city times. The pizza is the best in the city and also the ambience inside is beautiful. But I hate the service of the waiters. Always slow and superciliousnes that do not help for a restaurant! I'm never going to be very...often coming! I prefer frendly service!
One night. The restaurant was pretty busy, the Italian food. Pizza and pasta. Had to begin the tomato salad, which was quite good, big portion. Tom arrive for a while for black pepper, oil and balsamico vinegar. I followed this with the lasagna that was burned up a little bit and nothing special. Food is cheap. The above plus a beer cost me just over 18 EUR.
Service was efficient in our case, but just as uninterested as the other employees describe. The pizzas were really fine and I appreciate that we could order a small part for our daughter. However, my scampi salad, one of the most expensive dishes... on the menu was under standards: lettuce away wilted, dried from cucumber and tomato slices. I felt I had one of the remnants of the previous layer. I only send a record back every 5 years, but I really didn't see how a salad is bad. Fresh salad, tomatoes etc. were prepared, however, the scampis were significantly heated again in the microwave and softened. I even suspect that they were flushed because the original sauce suddenly disappeared and was replaced by vinegar. A small point was that the paprika strips on the pizza were clearly made of glass instead of freshly cut. I don't expect skin cuisine at a pizzeria, and I'm ready to overlook the average service, but I expect fresh food.
