We recently went there for lunch to celebrate my mother's birthday...pretty much all the guests who arrived after us had their food on the table before us...som... read more We recently went there for lunch to celebrate my mother's birthday...pretty much all the guests who arrived after us had their food on the table before us...some dishes were even unavailable, and this was at noon! The biggest disappointment was the small portions...my little daughter's duck leg and dumpling were the biggest portion. The roulade and dumplings with red cabbage were more like something for a light meal...I know exactly what homemade dumplings should taste like, but these weren't, despite being advertised as homemade...never...not a single potato fiber to be tasted...they were just rubbery dumplings...and the roulades were also quite dry and rather small...I'm happy to pay a fair price for good quality, but this was a real disappointment for a Sunday lunch! We overheard more of the conversations at the neighboring tables than our own...a total cafeteria atmosphere! I know much better places downtown, and the Waldschlösschen will definitely never see me as a customer again...Sorry.

Besides the obligatory roast goose breast and leg, there was also: Venison roulade Wild hare leg Roe deer leg Lamb shank Wild game goulash The roast goose breast we chose was delicious, crispy on the outside and pleasantly tender on the inside. It came with red cabbage and dumplings. The roe deer leg was equally excellent, incredibly tender. The service was very attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back!
