We were delighted they were open as the little lady who owns it and served us was so sweet and charming. The four of us still managed to spend 60 CHF total for 4 hamburgers that came with either fries or salad, plus 4 soft drinks. It was really nice to sit and enjoy the lakeside quiet and have a short, light meal as opposed to a more serious hours long sit down affair. There are few choices in the area, which makes this a good one.
This is a small sreet cafe, but do give it a try. We have visited this place quite a few times over the last few years, always for the delicious Ruebli Torte (carrot cake.) Our latest visit found us visiting at lunchtime, so we opted for the daily menu, soup with bread, salad and schnitzel with pommes for an incredible price (remember this is Switzerland) of 16.50 Swiss Francs! Not only was this very good food, but there was a lot of it! The cafe is not really on the lakeside but sitting ouside you can watch the steam boats coming and going. So, if you would like great value and very friendly service, this cafe is for you. A perfect venue for cyclists, walkers and anyone who doesn't want to pay the higher prices near the boat station, yet it is only a two minute walk away.
