This cozy, neighborhood Southern–Cajun spot offers homestyle comfort with tasteful decor, TVs for sports fans, and notably friendly service from owners and staff. A small, focused menu yields hits like etouffee, yardbird and burgers, but execution is uneven: some dishes are expertly seasoned while others arrive over-fried, under-seasoned or cold, and the jambalaya lacks traditional preparation. Prices feel high to some, yet the homey atmosphere and personal touch make it a promising new addition that could benefit from tighter kitchen consistency.

Right off, the dining area is small but clean with plenty of tables. Tasteful Southern decor. There are several TVs around for you sporty folk. The hostess gave off the new-to-food service vibe, which is fine. I went alone during peak time, Saturday 7pm. My waitress was kind and attentive. The menu is small with all the Southern and Cajun staples which is probably a good idea for a new restaurant). I was 1 of 4 tables dining-in at the time with the manager making rounds with the patrons. Maybe it was Johnny , who knows because he never introduced himself to me. He was, however, very friendly with the 3 OTHER tables. I was anticipating at least a hello but it never happened. Perhaps it was for the better; he and the people closest to me were talking politics a topic of conversation that makes me gag nowadays). What will I have to drink? Water with lemon, please. What? No more lemons? Ok, just the water Got the tea later, which was actually good and not watered down). I ordered the fried pickles for appetizer. They were delicious but....there were way too many overly-fried bits on the bottom. For dinner, I ordered the chicken-fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was a bit under-seasoned with more of those dang overly-fried bits on the underside. Mashed potatoes were cold... And dry : AND I LOVE MASHED POTATOES! Green beans were a bit mushy but they were made with bacon, so that made up for it. Was it terrible? No. It was expensive. I wouldn 't necessarily name this place as recommendation to any of my friends or family. I know it 's new but I hope improvements are on the horizon.

If you're looking for genuine Cajun and Southern comfort food, this is the spot to visit. I particularly enjoy the Etouffee, chicken roast steak, meatloaf, Johnny's Yardbird, and the Cajun Classic Burger. The owner personally visits each table, making you feel like part of the family. The food is affordable, expertly seasoned, and always served with a friendly smile.

If you want authentic Cajun and Southern comfort food, this is the place to go. Personally, I love the etouffee, chicken fried steak, meat pies, Johnny?s yardbird, and the Cajun Classic burger. The owner checks on every table as if you were a part of hisfamily. The food is reasonably priced, made with the just right spices, and served with a smile.
