Feedback
It's a pity this place is closing for good. Webster is putting a park in this space non revenue producing park across from a park. Now that makes sense doesn't it? The food is super great. The clam chowder is to die for. A perfect balance of clams, potato and soup. And the flavor unimaginable!!! This will be a super loss to the bay. I also had their fish sandwich which was really nice. Lightly breaded and complimented with tomatoes and lettuce and a side of tart and lively tartar sauce. And lastly fermented pickle slices. Oh such yummyness Next year we can sit on the grass and have a picnic by the bay but unless you're a Gourmet cook and can pack the chowder... you'll be out of luck. Goodbye Bay Side Pub.
I'm surprised by all the good reviews. In fairness, I had no preparation at all, and my friend and I just stopped here out of the blue. But I can't imagine I'd go back. The view across the street is very pretty and up on a hill, so if you do go here, be sure to check it out. This pub is across the street from that hill. It is right on the water, but it's not fancy at all. It's picnic tables with duck droppings everywhere, including some on the table tops. You couldn't be closer to the water, and the ducks were cute, but I personally would never eat here. The tables outside are self serve only, so we went to the bar to get drinks. The bar inside was really crowded, and there was only one bartender that was busy. She kept putting receipts in her mouth while she was serving drinks, which really grossed me out. I got an electric lemonade for $7. It wasn't worth it, and came in a plastic cup, and they only accept cash. It was pure chance that I even had $7 cash on me. My friend's drink was made entirely wrong the first time, which she noticed because it was the wrong color. It was remade by dumping part of it in another plastic cup and mixing other stuff with it. If you want to be on the water or feed some ducks, this may be the place for you. If you want a fancy dining experience on the lake, or even want to drink out of a glass, you do not want to go to this place.
