Was Anonym at Muffins Cafe a mag?
Lovely cozy cafè with a nice roaring fire, we had latte’s, cheese scones and blueberry lemon cake; it was all delicious. Once you’ve eaten there is a nice selection of gifts, homeware and clothing to look at and purchase! View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Muffins Cafe:
The only thing that spoils this quaint little cafe is the staff, the lady that served us made my partner and I feel so unwelcome! We almost felt like an inconvenience! A smile costs absolutely nothing! Maybe we were the 'wrong ' kind of clientele! It was a shame because the food was actually really nice, but we shall not be returning. View all feedback.
I was early for a business meeting and thought I would have a stop at this cafe that I had been past many times before , after waiting to be acknowledged at the counter I was pleasantly greeted and shown a table. I had a cappuccino and a slice of Victoria sponge. The cake was dry and tasted so artificial I ate it as I was starving I haven't had cake like it before. The cappuccino was terrible, it hadn't been made properly, I had to ask for more milk and it was undrinkable, so bitter. I run a business and would be mortified if a customer of mine felt as dissatisfied as I did afterwards. I did tell them that it was a disgusting cappuccino and no apology whatsoever. £6.30 spent.
We would have said that serving a burnt tea cake on a plate that would burn fingers says a lot about the preparation. The old adage of “ Better coffee beans make better coffee” applies. We did not see the coffee prepared so not sure if it was out of a tin ,or other. That said, the take away flapjack fortified us on our walk. Rgds
A friend recommend this place . We had to explain what vegans eat and finally decided on.avocado on toast , then we were served with avocado and Brie on toast , The staff were very rude about our diet and really we should have walked out but we are polite people however will not be returning there , we visit lots of cafes on route on the Harley and this was the first bad experience . Okay cafe but not if you have dietary needs or want a pleasant atmosphere.
I have visited often and realised today that I have never sung this lovely little businesses praises. So here goes. Lovely Cafe, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful cakes, exceptionally clean, generous pots of tea, enjoyable music, beautiful gift selection and original clothing.it is such a shame that people who rush in and out like Sue H from Bexhill and who think the world owes them instant service because you are oh so important, should take a step back and only review a place when you have spent more than 10 minutes in it.
Have been going to Muffin's for ages , very good selection of foods with generous servings ! Sandwhich and chips one of my favourates, my friend loves the Camembert .. Lovely baked Potato's, served with a vast choice of delicious fillings ! Can shop for clothes bags or unusual gifts , wrapping, cards and bags all under one roof ! Well worth a visit
